washout rate for officers in intel.. not that high, at least like you said, not because schooling is the cause.
getting a TS isn't that hard.. most pilots have TSs.
you don't need a 4.0+ weighted (i don't even remember the difference between weighted/unweighted) GPA.. i had a GPA around 3.4/4.0 and got in. it's hard to get in, but it's not impossible and you'll never know if you don't try. getting pilot out of here isn't even that hard either, roughly 50% get it if medically qualified. getting the plane you want to fly on the other hand, much much harder..

I don't suggest being a MX officer as their is a ceiling to how high you can typical get in your career being O-6 and you first years as an Lt will suck unless you luck out and get the operations slot else you will be commanding a MX flight you get hit with a ton flak from higher ups about some of your not so bright troops doing this or that, **** that you would think is impossible.

what's done is done. I think that I have a better chance at picking up intel or SF...

Anyone have anything to say About CSAR? Or MWD's? I'm considering both of these possibilities if i were to ever choose the airforce.

I just got my first duty assignment to Cannon AFB, NM. Has anyone been there or know some info about it. What I've read so far there are mixed reactions to the base and surrounding area, mostly on the negative side. Im going to be a C-130 maintainer if that makes a difference.

minimum to be MWD handler (K9) for SF is 3 years, SrA, as well as recommendations. if you are a first term 4 year enlistee you can forget about it. I have yet to see an O-type handler or kennel master as well, its all enlisted for I know.
also anyone here originally from california?
edit: forgot 5-level as well my B

I'm thinkin that I'm gonna make the grind to become a K9 handler....seems like once i got to that point it'd be an enjoyable job and it seems like it would have some good application on the outside (as a Police K9 handler of course)

ive never been to cannon but a base is all you make of it. if all you do is sit in your room and play games and look for nude pictures on the internet your going to think the base sucks. Get out and do stuff and your base will be awesome.

Even though I only spent 6 weeks at Keesler, I saw a ton of crap! Traveled everywhere. I have done it at every base I have been to.
The most miserable people are the base rats.
