It will be more expensive for all teams to play on a two day prelims. Hotels, car rentals, food, etc. Plus for the people who go to school and work it's harder to take off specially in this kind of economy.

One of the reasons ppl wanted 2-day prelims was so that teams could have it be "worth it"
Wouldn't you rather be playing on one day, and have the other day to look at the city, watch games, etc? Plus if your "one day" was on Saturday the whole leaving on friday thing.
poor choice IMO.

they took the players opinons...sorry that your choice wasnt selected....but i think this will be worth it either way cause most teams fly up a few days in advanced to practice the layout or walk the fields...so no big deal.....

I'm curious why people think it would have been cheaper to have prelims on one day.
If your team was scheduled for prelims on only Friday would you really book your flight for Friday night or Saturday morning? What if you advanced to the finals? Or are you traveling to a tournament with the expectation of losing?
Sure, if you were only scheduled to play on Saturday you could come in a day later, but then you would lose the advantage of walking the fields because they will be occupied all day with games.
Good luck to everyone in HB!

its not a vacation, its a paintball tournament that people spend a lot of money to attend. with the 2 day prelims, you usually are schedule to play all the in morning on all the afternoon on a day, so its not like you waste the day, there is plenty of time to soak up the city and watch games...
and this is only for HB for now... the middle events are more regional focused and since they are being hosted at actual paintball fields they can probably squeeze everyone into a 1 day prelim for those events, who knows. HB being the premier event at a premier location it makes sense to keep it 2 days.

the reason why people want to have it one day is to have it saturday so they don't have to take off friday from school or work and also will be cheaper.

thats my opinion anyways, looks like the poll is heading in that direction too.

I'd say this would be all the reasons to have the prelims spread out over 2 days instead of crammed into 1.
