Lightbulb Question about evo hoppers...

Now I'm sure this has been posted on here before, and it'll probably get deleted, but I've been out of paintball for the past few years to focus on other things. I still have my evoII working order, etc. etc. and I was wondering what the key differences between evo 2 and 3 are? I can't really find anything drastic. Is it worth investing in a 3 or some other new mind blowing hopper. Looking to get back into tournament play again, so any recommendations for a new loader would be great. Current setup is a '06 Shocker SFT w/ a blackheart tournament board, HE Bolt, etc. etc. Thanks for the help!

I wouldn't personally save up to buy a new EvLution 3. I'd just save that money for a used Halo or VLocity or something like that.

I actually think I have a b with a rip drive dug deep into my bag, actually. Got it along with a bunch of other crap from a friend when he sold off his stuff. Me and Halos have just never gotten along.

I think you'd be happy with the VLocity. Its a lot better than the EVLultion. The difference between the Evo 2 and Evo 3 is just the board.

The Evo 2 has a Y-board which has a dial that allows you to adjust the speed of the laoder.

The Evo 3 came with their Z-board upgrade already in it. Its supposed to make it feed a little bit faster.

I had the 2 and bought the Z-board. The speed difference honestly isn't that great.

A difference in boards and that's it. I remember one had a Y-Board and the other had a Z-Board. Anyway, that's the only difference (I think). The Evlution 3 feeds faster.

Hmm. I'll look into it. What about the rotors? People seem to like them a lot. What's the deal with them? Need something durable, I really abuse that stuff on the field.

i use the eggy3 and its good... just as good as anyother loader... its 23bps and it has a nice little sensor that makes it feed faster when something crosses its eyes... it isnt all that bad like people say... only bad part is reloading but im not use to it

It doesn't feed 23 bps.

Vlocitys are great loaders.

yes the eggy 3 can feed 23 bps. the main difference is the egg3's has a z board which is supposed to hold tension on the paintballs, the shells are a little bit stronger and the feed neck is twice as thick so it wont break. other than that it is pretty much the same...

Rotors are very very durable.
Supposedly made of the same plastic pre-brass eagle revvys were made out of. Sorta kinda feels like it...but not really. But it doesn't feel like regular "loader" plastic.

Also, i think its better for your than a VLocity or Halo. Its just set and forget. You turn it on, and thats it.

No settings to dick with.

Same with the pinokio. Push the button and (excuse the french) "Bam, its on"

Notice the difference, I said it "DOESN'T" feed 23 bps. It CAN, but doesn't do it consistently.

actually it does or its pretty close to it. i've gotten my pmr up to 22bps consistently for about 5 seconds(off the break) w/o chops with it eyes on.(we played a few rounds with no cap)
but you can only play at 10bps cap now so your fine. even when it was 15 and 13.3bps you would be fine.

its worth the cash

How do you know it was 22 bps? You don't. It has been proven, and even a VL tech has said the Z-board does not feed 23 bps consistently.

i've had a chrono read it at 22bps
might not been 22 exactly off the break but it seemed the same as what it was with the chrono reading and it was consistant
and yes, i know the chrono reads velocity. we have one that counts bps too.
but its not a big deal, its just a loader. and you cant go past 10bps anyways
