Fingerless Gloves and Gauntlets
So, I'm looking to switch from running with gloves to fingerless gloves or gauntlets.
I'm looking for opinions on the two from people who've worn both. I'd like to know:
1. Which you prefer (fingerless or gauntlet)
2. Which brand you've found to be the most durable and the most comfortable
About me: I'm a scenario player who has played woodsball tournaments and is thinking about getting into 3 or 5 man. I'm a large guy, so I'm not the one who will be doing the superman into the snake but I do want something that will stand up to hardcore scenario abuse as well as tourney play.
Thank you in advance for your intelligible and well reasoned responses!

lol dude. Good question ill be looking back when people acctually have an answer unlike me lol
Ive been useing a random pair of gloves for like 3 years there fingerless . but you may want to leave the fingers on for scenario thou . thats my opinion. Im useing some thin cheap Mechanic gloves . i think they worked great
i do prefer leave the fingers tips off. due to me playing speedball alot more than woodsball. but i play both.
Thank you in advance for your intelligible and well reasoned responses! - lol mine wasnt great :-P

I prefer fingerless. I like the Dye meta gloves alot, they let me feel the gun like i have no gloves on but protect the back of my hands while giving a bounce every now and then. my pair i have been using both in speedball and in the woodsfor the whole last season and they are still in great shape.
The PE gauntlets are also good gloves I just dont like how the thumb part feels when i wear them for some reason. I cant say anything about the durability of these since I have never used them in a game only tried them on.

It's all personal preference here... I'll give you three things.
1) If you're moving through brush and especially brambles (scenario) make sure you have full gloves, you'll never want to push and crawl otherwise.
2) In tourney ball, there are two competing things. Firstly finger shots hurt, so you may want full fingers. Secondly, full fingers may slow down your trigger finger (which may or may not matter depending on ramping rules).
3) Realize when you enter the tourney game, that even a the back players may be doing a superman dive, start practicing. No one is exempt from playing any position on a real tourney team. If people go down, you fill.

i have used dye meta gloves and PE gauntlet gloves, and their sleeves.
i like how the dye gloves fit and give great gun control, as well as great wrist support for baseball slides/superman dives. the only gripe i have with them is that after wearing them for a while and if your hand becomes sweaty or painty, the dye from the glove material will dye your hands black. Fortunately, it comes out with warm water and soap. the durability on the meta gloves are good.
the PE gauntlet gloves are funky. they're great for bounces, but having 2 fingers per glove hole can be awkward. they are comfortable though. these are more a personal preference and you have to find out for yourself whether you like them or not. they are very durable and offer great wrist support.
the PE sleeves are my favorite. they're like wristbands with thumbholes. i still use these and i have had them for almost a year. they're very durable and comfortable. the only thing they lack is wrist support, but if you slide/dive correctly it shouldn't be a problem.
i am curious how the empire freedom gloves work... take a look at those as well.

if you're playing psp or any ramping i would just let the tips on cause you wont really need the speed of your fingers

Thanks for your answers so far guys. To answer some statements that have been made:
I'm an avid scenario player. I've always used full finger gloves.....from tactical to my current favorites which are the Empire Contact SE in woodland camo with the trigger finger cut at the second knuckle.
I've always played with a mech, but have used EPs. Recently I purchased a Jungle Splash Ego8 and it has changed my playing style so that's why I was looking at having a third set of gloves for when I play with my Ego. I've noticed that when I switch hands to shoot out both sides of a bunker/defilade that I get butter fingery because the very small amount of extra material at the fingertips on my gloves get in the way. The gloves fit as they should, it's just a little clumsy transitioning from one hand to the other.
Thanks again for your responses so far!

I've always used the full finger gloves. I personally can't stand when my fingers get so greasy from the paint. It's just me.

I use these.

Plenty of knuckle padding free motion for your fingers perfect for Semi Tourney's or for knocking out the guy cheating jkjkjk
If your playing a tourney where PSP or ramping is allowed I go Full fingered. Your current Empire Contact gloves would be just fine since as long as you are pulling the trigger at 3pps (pulls per second) it will ramp to the BPS set in your marker or set by the tourney rules.

well, most of the tourney guy's just cut off the two first fingers of the gloves, that way i get the feel and protection of the glove without having to worry about the feel of my trigger....imo

I like the invert gloves they have like gel on the knuckles and they have elastic parts so your fingers can move freely and it doesn't even feel like the gloves are there.

i use a pair of dye gloves that i cut the fingers off. there's really no point in spending 20-25$ on "gauntlet gloves" or whatever.
just cut off the fingers, save some money

I've used fingerless, gauntlets and cut gloves. And after using all of those, I would still have to say that the armpads with the fingerless glove type attachment works best for me. Plus, why spend $40 on arm pads and $20 on gauntlets when you can spend that same $40 for an armpad/fingerless glove combo thing and have $20 left over?
I'm currently using the Eclipse ones but the Dye ones work fine as well. The Dye ones ripped on me after my first dive though...

please explain how that is a fail.
they provide extremely good knuckle and hand protection
my dye meta gloves are terrible, there is no protection at all, and i am considering picking up some of these because of how bad the metas are
