I love my X50, it has awesome range and works very well.
a few weeks ago my X50 was reading POP for the laser detection and my friend was behind me and his radar detector read X...How weird...his is a Cobra, not sure the model. |

POP only exists with Radar guns, Lidar guns are always an "instant on."
If your X50 was reading a POP Ka or something, and your friends was a cheaper Cobra, they misinterpret signals all of the time.

I got pulled over for the third time on Friday. 78 in a 65, but I got off with a warning because I told the cop I was on my way to an AFROTC function. I really need a detector.

V1. I've had the passport and the V1 and i currently have the V1. It has saved me more times that i care to remember. I only have 6 tickets. 3 on the record and it's all because my girlfriend has amazing breasts and my V1. If i didn't have it, i would be in jail. thx V.

hmmm that may be an issue since i've been using one for a while now.
but yeah, V1 is the way to go. no gimmicks, just straight up awesome radar

pretty sure radar detectors are only illegal in DC and virginia. in MN they kinda get away with it by saying you can't have anything mounted on your windshield. they can't like confiscate it though just take it down when you are getting pulled over
But i have a valentine one and i'd say it is way up there. in the sense that if you buy a detector and it will save you a ticket the v1 is the best. i usually just turn it down when i go to a commercial area. not a fan of the looks or the filtering, but range is amazing.
We did a side by side test with a 9500i( i know there might be some difference when they are by each other) but each time my v1 got the KA signal about 5-10 seconds ahead of the 9500i
EDIT:got my first laser signal yesterday, scared the **** out of me lol. I was thinking it was on the light or something? because i was sitting at a red light and all the sudden it went full blast, then when the light went green it stopped. i couldnt find the cop after that either

well im looking to spend about 250-300 on a detector, for that amount of money what its really worth it. a friend has the valentine1 but im not to sure if i want to spend 400 on one. for about 300 what would be one that will still preform pretty damn good
if that makes any sense. thanks

imo it is worth it to spend the extra $. think how much you will be using it. i have done many comparisons and the v1 is pretty much the all around leader for range.(it also has the arrows which i love) but if your really going for features you could go with the x50 or 9500i. the x50 would be the best for the 300 range but id just go the extra and get a 400$ detector because the difference will be quite significant, i mean you don't want to get a ticket after you buy one right?
