Question Night Play

I recently went to EMR's tippmann extravaganza scenario during the night play and I had a bit of trouble. What tips can I use to improve my night play.

sadly there really isnt that much you can do short of spending a lot of money on NVGs or giving your position away with flashlights

here is a thread a bunch of people were talking about night on

be quieter, get a silent gun(quietest as you can find) then work from there

if you have some extra cash to invest, you might try one of these they can be a handy tool for both day and night game play

Treat night play the same as day.
Use the terrain, the same way you would if it were daylight.

Gillie Suits are a pain but work great at night as well as day time.

A team mate of mine while we were playing at Camp Blanding MOUT site. Was mistaken for a bush and was used to hide behind by another player.LOL

To defeat NVG I use to carry an old still camera that had the magic cubes, and when I came to where I thought they were hiding I fired off the magic cube flash and the NVG as well as any one around them will be blinded for a short period of time. Of course be sure to shut your eyes before you fire off the flash or you will be blinded as well.

Id suggest just saving up money when u can and get a little 200 dollar set of viper gen 1 headgear monoculars. Some argue that gen 1 is pointless, however its better then nothing.

http://www.thenightvisionstore.com/n...allowprice.cfm

They can be found for less, I havnt check ebay, amazon or anything for nightvision yet.

Best thing is learn the field your playing on.

Keep a flash light on you. Even if you dont use it, you need it incase of emergencies. Spot lights are handy when you are dealing with people that are using NVG's. NVG's are usefull if you have the money. I have 1st Gen but dont use it. You have to use the IR illuminator and if you are like where I play, there are 3rd Gen users running around. They will see your IR and go after you. 3rd Gen dont need to use IR illuminators. The rare occasions I do use my NVG is to check the peremiter of a base, some thing like that. But generally not in the field while trying to do missions...

Rob66, made a good point about being quiet. Our guys do a shake test to make sure they dont have any rattles. And a quiet marker cant hurt at all either.

The main thing to help your night game is to play more of them.

there are lots of little tricks you can use when playing at night, that don't require the huge investment of NV.

In a group use a spotter with a very high power light the spotter sits behind the forward line performing sweeps back and forth with the light looking for opfor, often blinding them and causing havoc with shadows caused by your own front line, the draw back is the spotter is usually a high priority target but the key to remember that a powerful enough light has a much farther throw then paintball gun, and also your front line needs to be careful cause if they turn an look at the spotter they will usually end up seeing noting but spots for minute or two.

Individually I like to use lighted markers, lots of event don't allow the use of chem sticks, so I have made led markers using a simple circuit a few batteries and a red led, hang one form a tree in a open area with clear line of site of good cover set your self up in the covered area and just sit there watching the light if the light goes out or move drastically shoot it , it usually means some one either stepped in front of it or tried to move it.

night time play allows lots of cool opportunity for being creative.

Walk straight up to the enemy base, turn around, and walk in backwards.

Go laugh at Viper, he's the one that taught me it. It works like a champ, even managed to pull it off in 4 different states. At night, somebody pointed towards your enemies base is more likely your friend than not. A guy sitting on your perimeter facing outwards is "just some guy pulling security"... right until he whacks your general, steals your missions, gets your arm band tape...
