Epic still in production
Hello, just haphazardly wandered here.
must say that this one very intersting marker. Is it still being produced? the website is up still, and the DV8 makes me think its a 2008 model.
for that matter, does anyone ever look in here anymore?
too bad the feed neck is so high up. can it be milled/modified? or is the trap door system prevent that?
makes me wish i was filthy rich so i could buy one just to try it first hand.

well, since no one else is around i might as well talk to myself.
i was thinking that if this could be made electro, shorten the feed neck, update the milling, maybe find away to lower the noise level plus some marketing this could actually do well.
but i doubt any of those will happen

whats with the goofy ASA? that thing is huge, can it be changed?
so then the front grip, is just a front grip? on the diagram of it firing i concluded that it has no function other than a grip.
plus if you dont need a barrel for this thing, you could put a lil 5" barrel (i bet it would VERY loud!), put a remote line, plus a loader, and you got yourseld an awesome lil pistol like weapon. especially if you could get a decent holster for it.
with proper marketing this thing could be a big hit on the scenario market.

i think it would be impossible to make electro, at least impossible to keep up with todays ROF (20+).
its a trap door, if it were electro the door would not have time to close nd reopen fast enough, unless the trapdoor was connected directly to the solenoid which might be able to move it fast enough...
i remember back in the day seeing the ICE EPIC at a tourny at SC village, it was kinda cool (especially since i was running a mag back then), but didnt hear about it for years and years, till i stated coming on here again....

why couldnt the trapped door be electronically activated like a bolt on a normal marker?
should be very feasable. but then again, i am no expert on these.

I think that lowering the feedneck is a good ides myself to. I took some off of my hopper to get it a little lower. The fact that This gun isnt electro is what I love the most about the gun. my gun doesnt have the trap door and shoots amazing. Im gonna buy a new dv8 real soon. I cant wait. I would like to pick up another one used also.

Hello, just browsing around and saw this thread.... there was a video of an electro-epic years ago - i saw it. It apparently was the prototype but the video was taken down and nothing was ever said about it from ICE. Many held out hope at the time that the electro would emerge but as I said nothing happened. I've no idea how it operated, only that the guy was walking the trigger.
jason - with no trap door you're getting a helluva lot of blow back up your feed tube and terrible efficiency. But if it works for you and your happy then I guess no worries

Your right rluna, I meant that I have the trap door but not the trap door pro. The trap door works great for me. These guns are really hard to find used. If anyone is selling one I would be interested.
