The Dye sliders are the best in my mind ,sleek ,breathe well, tons of crotch and hip protection ,yet provide mobility.

Proto is the cheap version of Dye and not even worth the comparision .Same with smartparts as they are not known for their softgoods.

The Empire are a nice alternative.

Honestly, I'd rather pick up a pair of proven sliders from WSI, Mizuno, or Easton, who have been making them for decades for baseball and football. There really isn't a lot of difference in design, but the paintball branded (dye, sp, etc) tend to run $20-30 more.
