I saw an Acer Aspire One for $250 on NewEgg on Thursday I think.
That's $70 less than what I bought mine for a few months ago...

Three cheers for the DebianEeePC wiki, http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEeePC, who are doing a fine job of rolling out debian for full Eee hadware support. I run it on my 4G with 512M of RAM. It boots to single-digit RAM usage (and quickly!) and after a nicely populated package set I have more than 2G of free space.

Currently have the EEE701. I wish I would have waited until the 9 inch screen was released, but oh well. I like it alot.

In general yes. But usually they are extremely smaller than any normal laptop and are much less powerful. The EEE 2G has a 500Mhz processor and the EEE 4G's have a 650Mhz processor.

a mac netbook would be sick....but you know as well as i do that it would be 3x the price as the average PC netbook.

They said they are aiming at the price level of 500 and the air is not worth the price tag.
