E-Cocker lubrication

Couldn't find anything in the sticky about this. I only could find instructions on how to grease the ep-noid. I'm used to just throwing some gold cup in the asa on my Sniper II. Obviously you can't do this without screwing up the ep-noid right?

This is for a cocker I'm getting in a trade. It's got an MQ1, halfblock, and an E2. Anything specific that I need to be lubing with any specific lube? Can I continue using gold cup? I've also got a tub of no name grease. I'm not even sure if it's dow55 or dow33. I guess I can use that on the HPR right?

Thanks guys, and sorry if this is indeed a common question. I swear I tried to find it before I made an annoying thread lol.

a few drops of oil in the asa before a day of play and at the end of a day of play will not hurt the noid at all.
use dow and not that "tub of grease" you have. it's most likely patrollium based, which desolves plastic/rubber over time. and what is so great about dow 33/55 is it maintains it viscosity well below 0 degrees. ordinary greese will become very very gel like. slowing things down.
good luck,
Kmac

I put a few drops of gold cup in my ASA every 2 cases or so. I also put a little bit on my ram shaft every now and then. With that frequency, everything seems to stay very smooth, without the negative effects that overlubing can lead to.

I rebuilt my solenoid once and used Dow 33. That was 2 years ago, and it's worked flawlessly ever since. The thing about Dow 33 is that it seems like it never wears out. I rebuild my regs once a year, and every time I do it, it looks like there's still fresh Dow 33 on all the o-rings.

I love dow 33, synthetic axle bearing grease never fails!

no biggie on the thread, I like it that there are prople out there who have questions and can ask them intelligently.

i loove seeing threads like "IT ArE BrOkd! HAO eYe FeeX?"

but some oil is really all you need. aside form eventual inspection of the regs and whatnot.

I can say for certain that if you have a working cocker that shoots just fine you are one of the three, or all of the above. 1- you are not an idiot. 2- you know someone who is not an idiot. 3- you have enough money to pay someone who is not an idiot. - jonotwist

Do you have to slide the MQ out to grease it? Should I get a cocker valve tool to do this?

You don't need the valve tool if it's got an MQ.

Here is how I lube mine, as often as I take it apart.

3 drops or so of oil in the ASA.
Dow 33 or equivalent on the bolt, in a light coating
Dow 33 on the MQ poppet and seals

Reg. maintenance is standard, dependent upon the reg.

That's it. You can put oil in the ASA every 2-4 cases. I'm wearing in a tight fitting bolt right now, so I lube that before every usage for now, but I'm also obsessive. The rest you don't need to worry about until it gives you a problem.
