kind of rediculous if they DONT relegate. it gives those bottom three teams a free "pass" this year. the previous year they didnt get a free ride so why should it be this year they got "lucky" i dont agree with it. just anther reason why the sport is NOT legit

Anyway the bottom 3 I believe are rage, americans, and blast

No, Blast is not one of the bottom 3.
Josh moved to the semi-Pro team to try and help them win a Pro spot for next year. It wouldn't be pointless if they moved 3 teams up but didn't move 3 teams down.

I'm on the Steering Committee (and the only person from the Committee to post so far). I can tell you DEFINITIVELY that there has been no decision on relegation yet. It was discussed in both the Steering Committee meeting on Thursday and the Pro Owners' meeting on Friday.

They are going to decide after the tournament?? So after they know which teams would potentially be relegated, then they will decide whether to relegate them or not?

That could be viewed as a little shady, to say the least. I think if no team is moved down, and the division is not expanded NPPL will have made a mistake by not having this decision made before this tournament. It could lead people to question their professionalism and legitimacy as a professional sports organization.
But, if they are considering expanding the number of pro division teams, then who is at the bottom is unimportant.

Every conversation that I have been involved in have centered around what is best for the pro division. In terms of natural attrition rates due to decreasing sponsorship levels, in terms of building continuity and also in terms of being fair to teams in a shortened season.
The arguments have been made that teams like the Dogs and Rage are guaranteed to show up at events, even when they are out of contention. They are both heavily vested in the league. In this day and age, when teams dropping out happens every year, there is something to be said for that.
It has also been discussed how it would appear inappropriate to change rules hither-dither, which is something the NPPL has been accused of in the past.
But the discussions are about the league's best interest, the pro division's best interest and the sports best interest.
Dare I suggest that this may be one decision that is somewhat paintball-politics free?

from what i can gather with all the talk of aftermath, dynasty, impact, and rage all looking for a 2nd pro spot i guess most people are leaning towards no relegation and from all the talk of getting a second pro team i think they might expand the pro division by x-amount of spots but this is purely speculation

Yeah, but to make it 100% politics free, they needed to make it before any games were played on Saturday when it wasn't solid which teams were being relegated.
However, all your reasons are very legitimate. Don't forget to add the fact that none of these teams got their full 5 events to pull themselves out of relegation.

I spoke with mr stein, rodney squires, chino and others about this. While the league has not made an official decision on this, I can tell you that what jeff said is the truth. The feeling I got from the league was that this is a bettre than 50% chance there is NO relegation

Arsenal Evolution and Impact Semi Pro both have earned their spots for the pro division. If they sell it or not is up to them, but I am assuming they are going to expand the size of how many Professional Teams there can be in the NPPL.
It would be somewhat stupid to do relegation, because Rage and All Americans are guarenteed to be at each event.

But the All Americans didn't show up to this event and said they wouldn't show up to Houston. The AA team here this weekend was all D1 (or two?) players from the NXe team. None of the AA's showed up.
You are right about Rage though.

it's not something the NPPL has been "ACCUSED" of in the past. it's what the NPPL seems to do on a regular basis

I agree with John - the decision should have been made prior to the start of the event. However I also see the point of view of the steering committee. Decisions need to be made based on the situation of the league, and the number of teams next year.
*Sidenote - If Josh Davey is playing Semi Pro is Impact Pro not rotating a sub in and just rolling with 7 guys?

If that's the same NXe that was filling in the All Americans spot, you guys earned that Pro spot, whether you get it or not. Well done!
