co2 on slg

i know. i know. i know. i know that the SLG should NEVER be ran with co2, but i went ahead and tested it anyways.

the gun will shoot. get anti siphon & a PPS reg and im sure the lil sucker can put out 6 bps.

here's what happened... the hyper 3 can NOT handle co2. im not sure if it's the seals, but i found out that dow 33 coagulates when co2 is ran by it. too cold i guess. the lube literally separated into two parts, like old expired yogurt.

again... "the gun will shoot. get anti siphon & a PPS reg and im sure the lil sucker can put out 6 bps." -me.

the point is, hyper 3 cant handle co2, if you want to use co2, get a reg that can regulate co2. please learn to read.

Why would you even want to run it on co2? I get the point you're trying to make, but why even risk it?

well, i wanted to know what would happen, i have 7 full rebuilds, so if anything blows, im good to go.

i did this to help clarify why an SLG shouldnt use co2. the operation system is one thing, but as i have found out, the reg is the bigger reason why an SLG shouldn't use CO2

The internal lube and o-rings are going to have the same issues that the reg
had, IF liquid Co2 is allowed to reach them. Most likely the reg caught all of it
during your previous testing. Under most circumstances you will
probably be fine, but then someday, when you're in the heat of battle, you'll
shoot a little too fast, liquid will make it to the firing chamber, and cause
damage to the seals, putting you out of the game. I doubt there would be
any un-repairable damage, though.

if you read your manual or talk to dye/proto, they will say that they dont recommend it, you can run with it, but for only so long before you run into problems, just get an 80 dollar aluminum hpa tank, and you wont have to worry about fixing you gun every time you play

i know. i have an air tank. i just wanted to test how the gun would react to CO2 and let you guys all know.

to restate the conclusion if you want to use co2, get anti-siphon and PPS reg. even then, your bps is limited.
