You pull back the pump handle which is directly connected to the bolt via the pump arm. The bolt draws the hammer back with it via a pin between them. The hammer cocks against the sear, and a paintball drops into the breach from the magazine above. You push the pump forward ant the bolt (still connected via the pump arm) chambers the round. The hammer stays in place untill the trigger is pulled.

I can't answer your second question as I haven't used it for a day's play in many years. I'm working on it though!

pulling the pump er and the bolt is back opens the breach, you "rock" the pgp, tilting it, the front, up about 45 degrees and then a ball drops in, and you "cock" push the pump handle back to cock it, hence, rock and cock

Exactally as Ziggy said. With a PGP (and a P68) you need to tip the muzzle up while the breech is open to get the ball to roll back in the magazine and drop into the breech.

With a phantom you need to tip the muzzle down.

I don't think it requires a specific 45 degrees though. You don't have to tip it much, but I guess the more you tip it the faster it will load.

Ok thanks.

Can anyone answer the question about how many 12 grams/paint you use in a day with the PGP only.

When I started playing with it all day I would shoot maybe 50 rounds all day. Against semi autos or stock guns. Now that I have improved in skill with it, I shoot between 100-200 in a day. I change 12 grams every 20 shots, and sometimes between games if I wasn't sure how much has been shot.

Right now I am preparing to make my PGP constant air and regulated for days when I play against semis, and use a phantom quick changer for 12 gram days.

It's signifigantly cheaper than pump or semi, if that's what you want to know

The amount of paint you use (as always) depends on a number of factors like field layout, people you play against etc. Generally however, after 6 hours I use 200-300 rounds and about 12-15 12 grams. (Not sure of the exact number, I just don't go thru an entire box of 25 12 grams). And if you are going to play with a PGP against semis, prepare for a beating. Winning a firefight is a thing of the past. (Unless of course you are playing with a complete moron). You have to rely on hitting your target with one shot. Once someone notices you, the game goes downhill for you from there. But playing stock does teach you a number of things. Ammo conservation for example. And knowing the value of a single paintball.
