To comission or not???
I know there are at least a few people on these forums who are prior-enlisted officers.
I am about 3 classes away from an associates degree.
Is it true i can put in a mesep package with an associates?
How does the standard of living and what is expected of you change?
How does the enlistment work? Is it year to year?
just wanted some opinions. If i do not comission i will probably get out of the corps.

you need a 4 year degree for your commission in the Marine Corps. Other then that not totally sure. You should get a hold of an OSO and talk to them about the finer points of getting your commission.

the OSO is usually at the RS so what ever your RS is call them up and talk to some one down there to get a hold of the Marine Corps OSO it's usually a Capt or 1st LT.

i think you need atleast 90 credits and still pursuing your degree, then you can go to ocs. but they will not promote you to captain until you have your bachelors

OCS is pretty much promising you a comission after you complete your degree for example the army PA program your considered OCS for the 2 year long program until completion and you get your masters from university of Nebraska

OCS the name of the school, but it's really OCC is when you have your degree or are a Sr in college and almost done, you attend OCC at OCS in VA, it's a 10 week event. After that you'll either finish your degree and get your commission or if you have your degree you'll get your commission right there.
Now if you're a Freshmen and Sophomore you can take PLC, at OCS in VA, it's 2 6 week events with a 10 week event added in there at the end. The 10 week event is the same as the OCC's event. Then after you're done with those 2 6weeks and the 10 week you'll finish your degree and get your commission.
That is what the OSO that came to my unit the other week said.
