Also, benning runs infantry training, and knox runs cav scout and tanker training. Obviously it's going to be harder with rangers and green berets running your **** than with vehicle mechanic and admin drill sergeants.
what do people say? what exactly makes it harder is what im trying to find out. all you told me was what i already said that the drill sergeants are different. and whats a time out card?

For one here is the big difference....everyone ready....

THERE ARE NO WOMEN!!!

Women cause the training to become different. You cant walk up to a woman and get in her face and make her to 200 pushups because quite frankly they would not be able to handle it.

Trust me you will here that Knox and Benning are a lot harder most people will agree even most drill sgt's will tell you that when you go to knox or benning that the other Basics are just a little more lax....

Also look at the fact that Jackson and Leonard Wood are the only two doing the whole cell phone thing.....hhhmmm

Ill tell you.....

And let this be known Knox Basic training does not just train Cav and Tankers.....I was at basic with a bunch of random MOS's

However for AIT they do only train Cav and Tankers....

OK

From my experience and the stories Ive heard from buddies who went to such training centers as Jackson and Leonard Wood.

They are a lot stricter on policies then other basic trainings and you certainly can be treated a lot harsher without the women there. They can say things they wouldnt normally say with in ear shot of a woman. This adds stress, which coicindently makes your experience and training more difficult or harder. They can smoke you a whole lot longer and more often because a males muscles can last longer and exert more then a womans (granted you do get some little *****es that come to knox that cant do a push up to save their life) Thus the whole experience becomes harder

The whole physical part is harder. Without women in the group, the pace on runs will be faster, the muscle endurance will be harder, things like that. Women have weaker bodies than men, hence why their pt test results are like a third to half of what mens are. Our road marches were longer than people I talked to who went to Jackson. The requirements were the same, you have to do so many 10k's, 15k's and such. But our DS's were nice, and if we were supposed to do a 10K, they'd take us on a 15K just for kicks and to show up another platoon or company. Why? Because they could.

Like said earlier, without women there, things will be said, tempers will flare more, and the whole "drill sergeant" experience will be rougher. Don't care who you are, a 6'5" 250 pounds of muscle drill sergeant wont get on a little girls *** like he would a bunch of males. Just a fact. When you're smoked as a platoon, you'll have to stop earlier because women in general cant take as much as men can.

Then, what really pissed me off (pt and stuff didnt bother me, I wanted to get into shape) was the little things. The phone calls that they got every other day. The stuff they could eat in the chow hall that we couldnt. The milk they could have with their cereal. The soda they could drink in the chow hall. The time they got to enjoy their meal instead of having to chunk it down in two minutes. The private time they got at night. Bull**** like that.

And don't even get me started on this whole time out card thing. I still don't know exactly the specifics, but I've heard all about how it's used at Jackson by people who go there. Although they say it's actually mostly used by women, but that might have been the men trying to cover their ***.

about cell phones: it depends on the company and whos in charge. When i went to basic in 07 at jackson, we only got 2 phone calls. one at reception, and one one before family day. my friend who went to 11b OSUT the same time as me at benning, said he got about 6 phonecalls during the cycle. and even got OPO's towards the end of the cycle.

but i will agree, fort jackson seems to be much easier phisically.

I was going to mention those, but figured only people who went to knox would know what I'm talking about. Flippin agony, misery, heartbreaker, stairway to heaven, the list goes on.

Never forget the first time up misery. Thought I was getting to the top, almost there, almost. Then you get to the "top" and find out its just a slight bend in the road and youre really only halfway there, lol. Memories

So I only got letters and then one phone call a few days before we graduated.

The only reason my PLT ever got passes was because we wooped 2/3/4th platoons ***** in everything. Other than that, it was constant 'smoking' except on ftx.

I went to Ft. Benning though, graduated in april.

I remember running up and down agony and misery in boots and ut's every other week during my training there. Those hills aren't that bad.

That's bull****. I only got to call my family once because it was Christmas Eve, and I was only allowed two minutes from the second I said "hello." And it wasn't even company/battalion/regimental policy, it was just our senior drill instructor deciding to do us a favor. The rest of the time was letter writing. Then again, I went to Parris Island.
