Military Science Major. HELP

OK guys well right now I am a senior in high school and I'm looking at different options I have come up with once I graduate. One of my options is to go to The Citadel (military college in SC) to get a degree in military science. I figured, "Hey, its The Citadel... One of the best colleges here in the US... in-state tuition is decent with scholarships... and I've always had an interest in the military." If I applied I know I could get in because of my grades and stuff.

So I am really making this thread to ask yall, what does military science consist of? I am asked but I try to come up with a straight answer but nothing really comes to mind except "testing weapons, working with new technology, etc."

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Military science, as far as it is here at RPI, is not traditional science. Its sort of the science of war, how the military works, etc.

its gay if it is anything like the classes we take. some of it is interesting if you dont know much about the military, but it mostly consists of taking common sense concepts, applying buzzwords to them, and then writing papers using the buzz words

Ive been to the Citadel and I know alot of the guys who work in the Military Science Department. I was tasked to go down there and certify them on some things but while I was there me and my buddy got to experience campus life. The Military Science they taught consisted of army things like leadership, rank structure, tactics, etc. It seemed like an extension/continuation of high school JROTC.

engineering?

also, one of my other options was to become a salesman for the military. like sell guns, ships, aircraft, etc to other countries. would that be a better job to look into?

yah, what you want is like the acquisitions fields. those are the guys who buy the expensive **** for the military like planes, boats, etc. they stay in the military for a few years and then normally get out and go work for defense contracting companies like Lockheed Martin or Boeing, selling the product to the military instead of buying it for the military..

if you want to develop stuff, you just need to get an engineering degree in something relevant and that you enjoy. Electrical engineering is a good one as it's pretty versatile, then you can sign up with the military as a scientist or work for a defense contractor where you would work as a civilian scientist for the military.

My aunt and uncle are chemistry professors at the Citadel, if that has anything to do with Military Science.

military science is like the "science of military theory" and all.. not, science for the military.. kinda like political science, there isn't an engineering or chemistry involved..

If your grades are good and you have an ACT score of around a 29 or higher, or you are good enough to be recruited for athletics, apply to West Point. Everything is paid for, much better than just in-state tuition.
