Ion feedneck Help.

When my Ion came in, it came with a spare part that looks like a feedneck, but with a clamp. What I want to know is, can my stock feedneck screw off, and if so, is said spare part a feedneck that can replace the stock feedneck? Or will i have to go out and buy something different?

first yes the stock feedneck will come off, i believe there's loctite on it so you will have to take a hairdryer and heat up the threads before it will come off.

next i have on idea if they come with a clamping feedneck. can anyone answer that question for him then?

They didn't come with a spare feedneck.

Was it purchased new or used?

As long as the threading on the clamping neck matches the threading on the stock neck it should work fine. If you do swap it, be sure to put some loctite on the feedneck threads before installation, and let it dry for 24 hours before using it.

Be very carful and dont strip the threads. I speak from experience. I had to buy a brand new firing breach just because I striped that part

Take a pic of the part. If you bought it new, then some places have a special where they give u a free q lock on the side which is a feedneck.

About taking out your stock feedneck. The stock one is on very tight. your best bet is using a vice after using a hair drier on the feedneck and it should come off easily enough.
