Next Season's Gear

First off, I know that I start a lot of threads. Second, this is NOT a VS. thread; it's an opinion and fact thread.

Okay, here's the deal. The pair of trusty Profilers that I have is begginning to get worn out; the sides by the strap were cut by the original owner so that the strap could go THROUGH the mask itself (I have no idea why), and it's ripping badly. So, I've decided that over the season's "intermission" (winter time) I am going to buy a new mask, as well as a new pair of pants.

Here's the dilema with a new mask. I already HAVE a pair of Profilers; I know that they fit nicely, they are a nice mask, and they have a great field of view. Also, I found the ORIGINAL Profilers on a PB site instead of the SE's (I hate them). However, I can't help but feel that I want to try something new, and I'm drawn to the Empire Vents line, especially the Avatar series.

So, I need to get some basic information from you ever-so-helpful forum members on the Avatars. The information that I would like is: are they durable, are they comfortable, do they have a wide field of view, do they cover a lot of your face (especially the sides), and do they really get a lot of bounces as they claim to? In general, are they worth the money that you pay for them?

Moving on to pants; I have a pair of JT Tournament pants as of now, and they're amazing. The problem is that they're getting small. So, over the winter I want to get a new pair of pants. I've narrowed my choices down to the new Empire Contact SE pants, the 2007 or the 2008 Planet Eclipse Distortion pants.

So, what I need to know concerning the pants is: are they durable, are they comfortable, are they worth the money? I know that a lot of the players on this website may not know the answer to this question, as they may not have used either of these pairs of pants before, but it's worth a shot.

Thank you in advance for any and all of your help.

Try a local shop to try the mask on, you dont even have to buy it. Just wear it and get your own opinion... thats what i do. Or go to like world cup and try it lol.
With the pants i cant help you lol i personally have tourneys myself and if i dont buy/ locate another pair im probably going dye. Bc they are by far the most durable pants ive seen. A friend of mine still has c4's lol and we are bout to be on 9. Ive seen a few empire pants and they seem to lack the padding that i love about the jt's and same goes with the eclipse pants. Also dye pants fit a little bit better to allow for bounces and stuff. If any of the 2 though i would go empire bc as far as price to worth ratio i would definetly say empire is worth, if not try some dyes... you will not be dissapointed at all i promise you that.

Thanks. I have been looking into Dye as well, but mainly the Empires because of all of the padding that they have (Kevlar knees, hips pads, and lumbar pads).

if you want to keep the profilers, get a new strap. if not, Grillz or Flex.

pants: Proto 07 are very nice for the price

I use an avatar and I always liked it. It's cheaper than the empire events yet is just about the same (no soft ears). They also come with an extra lens a mask bag and a lens bag, both of which double as microfibers. The mask also breathes preety well and is comportable to wear.

thats about the same with mine.

Then i bought a Grillz and it was easier to breath and more comfortable for me but it will mostly on personal opinion for masks.

For pant the empire SEs are great ive used them before but i use Duraxxus Pants because they are comfortable and look good

if your wanting vents....just go all the way for e-vents.

but yes, they have good vision and are comfortable, and get a ton of bounces. however, they dont offer as much protection in trade for the small profile. although ive never had any issues with that in the year and half ive been using them, maybe a little jaw-slap.

edit: oh, and its "grill" not grillz.....vforce never put the "z" on the end...

for mask if you like the profilers just upgrade to grillz. I have them and it was easily the best mask I've used and I have a few flexs. Flexs are good if you into having your own style. Such as colors and straps and such which is why I have them and they are great performance wise as well. I personally like the grill better

I agree.
I've had everything from Profilers, to grillz, to Events.
Flex FTW.
As far as pants go, I'd havta say eclipse or empire are both pretty good.
I like the look of the eclipse better though, personal preference though.

Proflex are the best mask made ever. Get a flex, I have the Empire Contact SE's. I like them but I did manage to rip one of the knees. I play on a dirt field with rocks and all kind of nasty ****. The zipper pockets are one of my favirote parts. I would get them.

So, I'm getting the idea that a lot of people like the VForce Grill?!

I have yet to get any actual information about Vents besides that they're comfortable and breathe well.

I'm still going to go with the Empire Contact SE pants for now; they seem to be a great deal for the money.
