Haven't tried Thai Am 2. The only places I've tried so far are Sushi Tomi, Ren Get Su, Amura and Fuji. Ren Get Su is very touristy, but the lobster is awesome. I liked Fuji for their portion size. They're very generous with their slices.

My current favorite sushi place is a teensy restaurant in Orlando called Sushi Tomi. The menu is somewhat limited, but what they do have is excellent in freshness and preparation. I think the lunch special is around $12 for 5 pieces of nigari and one roll. And I thought that was a good deal. For $20 all you can eat, I'd have sushi once a week.

Thats weird that ****s so expensive everywhere else, another place by me, i get an eel roll, rainbow roll, and shrimp tempura roll with like 5 pieces of sushi for like 16 bucks.

That's a steal man. For me, I don't mind ponying up a few extra bucks as long as I get some quality stuff.

When i worked in the city i would meet up with friends and go to Nobu afterwork it's great but has been going down for a while and a bit pricey. i generally eat sushi a couple times a week because i am infatuated by japanese cusine. the best sushi i have every had in my life was at a small restraunt fille with loads of japanese business men, it is called Sushi Yasuda, and is one of the two restraunts in NYC with a zagats rating of a 28.
as for my tastes, i have been a bit spoiled so i would not get what i usually eat in many restraunts if they even have it. i usually ask the chef for what is freshest and add a couple of my standard pieces on to it.
ps. everyone should try fresh firm uni its really quite amazing. sea urchin

uni is one of the few things I'm a bit afraid of trying. I blame biology lab in college for that.

I'm not a hardcore sushi guy, but I LOVE Ebi, it's all I get. My dad does spicy tuna rolls, and rainbow rolls. If I get in the mood for sushi, I'll go up to Publix and get some crap California rolls just to calm my craving until I can get some decent stuff.
<3
I love using so much wasabi that it makes you sneeze, also.
