I do beleive I understood the 2 letter caption LT. All I says is that one of my roomates who happens to be a defector, former NCO and vet of 2 tours gives me lectures with the exact opposite message every time he catches me with reservist brochures

He also had his reasons. Just to put this in perspective for you, he was a SSgt in the USMC, hopefully you know how long one would have to be in the marines to get that rank/pay grade

I cant see someone like that defecting for no reason at all, therefore I have no problem doubting what he's told me, and on the other hand, I won't call any soldier a liar so let's just leave this where it is and "try" to keep it on topic...although I dont think any on topic posts have been made

True, the Canadians also played a key role in WW1, Vimy Ridge being just one example.

i never said Canadian's were dying in Iraq, they are dying in Afghanistan, where the real terrorists are.

wow, I got excited seeing all the activity in this thread, thinking it would actually be Canadian military discussion.. I am willing to bet that nobody in here who flamed Canada has ever served in any type of military. When I was in the Army I had the opportunity to train and work with Canadian soldiers, and they are first rate stand up guys.
For the guy who said they mooch equipment off of us.. consider that all of our small arms except the M4-M16 are made by other countries (FN in Belgium for crew served weapons and Beretta in Italy for our pistols). Canada also manufactures the elcan sight we use on our M240s, which is a fine piece of kit. to Canada for being a good ally from Passchendaele to Afghanistan

A) I didn't say Canada sucks, nor even provide my opinion on Canada. Please, show me where I mentioned Canada? That's right, you can't, cause I didn't.

B) I'm not some American elitist, and I know other countries are providing help to fight the war on terror, but when you have someone assuming that I don't know the sacrifices by other countries, you're just being stupid.

C) I made the point that no matter how many deaths of canadian forces, british forces, or whomever else is helping us, it will always be America that pays the biggest toll. And this is understandable, after all, we did take on this war and it is our war. Does that make a foreigner's death in fighting in the Iraqi war or whatever other conflict any less of that of an American's? Absolutely not. But it does give Americans a reason in arguing over where the major contributions are coming from in this campaign.

D) I can't believe you assumed that I was using Americans deaths as a reason as to why America was superior or whatever was going through your mind. That's just ignorant.
