We actually have really well trained soldiers, just not the funds to be a powerful military. I guess it's a good thing, we really do not need to be a powerful military and it saves me tax money.

Not trying to rub it in but how much is canadas weapons made by them? All assault riffles are made by us. Tanks by Germany or someone else. Planes us. Maybe there ships and guess who gave them plans?

The Canadian people have no need for such outrageous expenditures on their military that the Americans feel they need. Our economy itself does not rely on war, and war related industries to generate a large amount of income.

Not only that, but in the case of any country invading Canada (like America for example), the vast majority of our army is IN Canada, and due to the vast cultural mosaic of our people and Canada's good relations with the rest of the world, it wouldn't be long until the rest of the world would show up on our soil.

From what I read Canadian special forces are better the their American counterparts. They go through like 5 years of training rather then two.

Same goes with U.K. and France.

A lot of you guys really need to rethink what you're saying. Canada's military has been instrumental in a lot of conflicts. I've done Field Ops with the Canadian Army and they're all stand up guys and great soldiers.

and? who gives a ****? we dont base alot of our economy on war. My best friend is shipping to afganistan soon to fight in the war against terrorism. Canadians are dying there believe it or not, what was it 3 or 4 last week alone? Alot of you Americans think that Canada's military is a joke, but we are just lending a helping hand. While men die trying to fight terrorism, they are called jokes by you people? I know terrorism affects the whole world, but it hasn't happened in this county yet.

Iraq produces 2.5 million barrels a day...one of the lowest producing countries in the Middle East

compared to say Saudi Arabia that produces 12 million barrels a day, and in addition to that produces 880 million cubic feet of natural gas.

Hell the United States produces 5.6 million barrels per day!

Im afraid I can't say that for 3 friends from when i lived in NY who came back in caskets, and 19 others that I knew through friends. I guess they just got on the **** end of the stick as it were, I repeat what I get from infantrymen and never ever watch any american news channel, and only watch the canadian ones for weather reports

Spend a day in your boots? I think i mentioned im joining up with the reserves up here beacuse my parents would KILL me if i went into active duty, and I really want to be a social worker/teacher

I have nothing against any branch of any military (except marine recruiters, they are annoying as ****)
