Does Canada actively (and by actively I mean pester and annoyingly) recruit like the U.S. does?
Or is it more relaxed like I imagine it to be?

I don't know what it's like down in the states but we have T.V recruitment ads and thats about all I see for recruitment on a regular basis. I'm joining the Nova Scotia highlanders reserves (wewt i get to wear a kilt!) in a few months then going reg forces.

Peacekeeping mostly, my Dad has been all around the world with the canadian military.

all of you americans that come into this thread with your smartass remarks, open your ****ing eyes for once. You have no idea what other countries are doing to help fight terrorism, you just think that its all the US OF A fighting them towel heads in I-RACK and them other places. /rant

And here I was going to defend my brothers in arms (I am in the US Navy, and just put in for orders to the Sand Box), and talk about how the latest world record for confirmed kill was by a Canadian... |

It seems that ignorance is rampant in these threads. All you ignorant ****s should probably realize that Canada is actually doing a lot of work in A-stan. They aren't the pushovers everyone seems to think they are.
