If the PSP events only ran over 3 days(Friday, Saturday and Sunday) for Xball, would more of you attend PSP events than 7 man events? Or would this increase your likelihood of going at all?

I'm not saying that the current way the PSP events are run has any problems, Im just curious what difference it would make in people who dont usually play PSP and for those who already do.

It's a rhetorical question, because it's not possible to run it in three days unless LESS teams are allowed to compete.

I simply meant it as a theoretical question. If there as some way to shorten the events without taking away playing time, who would be interested in playing PSP over whatever else they do instead (play other leagues, not play because of missed work, school, etc...).

Because of missed school, work and family time.

Once you hit the work force you'll understand a little better. Even GOOD jobs will only give you enough time off for a few of the events every year, but after that you've spent all your vacation time playing paintball, now you've got no time to go relax at the beach or travel anywhere.

well there is the whole lighted field thing but that totally restricts locations so nope......it's nice playing at least one day w/o all the crowded mess that comes with such popular events......and easier to shop if thats your thing, or just look at new ****

it would be nice for 3 day events...
but psp would need to find venues that had twice the area it takes now for the amount of fields that would be needed for the same amount of games to be played
also would have to get more refs, more fields=more refs
also by having the shorter event it would actually cost more to enter from the land that would have to be rented because most places will not be able to hold it and twice the pay as normal for refs
so an event that would take half the time as chi town or cup it would actually cost twice the entry

Wrong. Number of fields doesn't matter. It's the number of rounds and time per round that matters.

About the only way to squeeze the event into three days would be to cap the number of teams at 30 per division, run quarterfinals on Sunday morning, and not have people leaving the location until 5 PM (which screws with a lot of people's flights out Sunday night).

Oh, and, have to can 5-man.

So it's not going to happen. If divisions have to be capped at 30 teams, PSP doesn't get any more XBall teams really, and on top of that has no 5-man teams.

Of course it would be awesome to have to miss less class and work, but it can't happen, so don't even let people start thinking it can, haha.

On the good side at least you get almost a full week of that Florida weather. It's always a rude awakening when you wake up at home and it's 30* out, haha.
