technically yes i believe there is a "malicious overshooting penalty," though it rarely gets called.

The fact that hit players walk right through the middle of the field to intentionally get bonus balled or stop lanes of paint for their team mates doesn't really help the problem...

Its usually at the discretion of the judge, but I would think, as long as you have less than double digit ball breaks on an opponent, you're good. If you get 10+, you will probably end up with a penalty. I mean, 3 trigger pulls while in ramp mode is 9 balls, so any more than that tells me you meant it and therefore that is BS and you deserve a penalty.

This a good one. I was watching a game in the finals when a player in the snake aztek got shot stood up and started walking off the field, when a player from the opposing team at the X started railing him in back of the head the player walked about 10 feet (still getting shot in the back of the head) b4 the player in the X stopped. Then the player at the X grabbed the flag and started walking to go hang the flag. Someone on the sidelines asked the reff why that was not over shooting, the player with the flag overheard this and started waving the flag over his head " like a pecker" and hung it. The reff was asked again if that was overshooting and taunting and the reff just shook her head.....
I understand that people intentionally walk through lanes to help other players out, and i understand that sometimes you get a stream of paint in the air and you cant help but put a few xtra an a player, but this looked intentional to me.

Its at the discression of the judge. You can get a penalty for shooting someone once (rare), or not get one for shooting someone 15 times.

I think if it's intentional, like you do a run through and instead of 3-4 shots, you nail them with 7-10 and if they are out of bounds and you shoot them I think thats malicious intent
