The best and only place on the coast is Warped in Ocean Springs. This is the only field pretty much on the coast lol. But it has 3 airball/hyperball fields and a proshop and fill station. I have been going there for 10 years and its one of the best places I haven been too(aside from Insane in Chattanooga) and for the new marker I would recommend the f8 by Dangerous Powers becuase you get the perfomance of a ego for half the price or if you like spools you can get a G3 at 450. If I can help you in anyway just pm me and ill be happy to help and welcome back to the sport.

A spool marker is basically how a dm's/ion/rail/ slg/ work. Basically it uses different air volumes to control the bolt and it is generally very quiet compared to other markers but it usually has very bad effiency(sp).

Do NOT go with Mini's. One of my teammates bought on the way to our FSU tournie and at first it worked just fine, but after a while the soloniod wouldn't click. Then at our VT tournie it wouldnt work( it was so cold that his karni went down and he needed the mini). He went through alot of frustation with the mini and he sold it and bought a used ego. Im sure that there are alot of people who like their mini's and if they work then they are a nice marker but from what I have seen I would never buy one.
