Got a warning, but really confussed.

I recieved a warning for posting something off topic in a team thread. I am just really confussed as to why I got it. I didnt get points or anything so I am not that worried about it, but I just cant figure out why it was issued. I read every post I had in the thread and I could find anything that violated the rules.

Now that I saw the thread was locked for 24 hours I am assuming everyone in the thread got a warning. Pbnation is becoming a big joke

If you are talking about the XSV OT thread, it was auto closed by SYSTEM because it reached 2000 posts. All threads are closed by SYSTEM when they reach 2000 and a new one is opened in it's place.

you received a warning for posting off-topic in a team thread. John clearly states the rules in the stickies of the forums and that the team threads are used for team related discussion only (I.E practices, tournaments, discussing strategy things like that). You and another user went off-topic in the thread so you were infracted for it.

The thread was closed for 24 hours (just re-opened actually, so a little longer) because there was so much off-topic activity in there. The same is done with every other team thread in the NE regionals area. That thread in particular wasn't being picked on.

it started with this post:

To each his own, but not one of the 5 or 6 vikings or 2 excals I owned shot remotely well.
you then proceeded to have an exchange with another user in that thread for several posts.

I guess I would disagree that it should be against the rules considering its talking about what a player on the team is going to shoot for a gun, although I am not contesting that the conversation took place. Oh well

That is a little odd to get an infraction for that. Give us some time to look into it.

It was a "warning", but it showed up with the other infraction I got a couple of months ago, it didnt have a point or anything, if you get time to look at it, cool. My biggest thing here is not that I recieved a warning because it happens, im over that, I guess I would recommend amending the rule for team threads to "anything goes" as long as it falls under the general PBN rules. It doesnt affect anyone else, really.

Team Threads
Team threads are permitted and are meant for discussions about the team. The majority of the content must be paintball related. If the thread becomes an OT thread, it may be closed or removed. Team threads are not private but please do not troll or instigate in another team's thread. Teams are limited to one thread. If you want your thread to remain open, please do not be rude to people who post in it.
That quote comes from the stickies in the forum where you were warned.

A couple off-topic posts here and there aren't normally an issue (unless they break some other forum rule). When off-topic posts are dominating the last couple pages, thats a problem. The team threads, as per my understanding, are there for you to communicate team issues such as practices, events, whos paying for what at events, etc.

I understand that rule and thats why i didnt contest the fact that the gun conversation came into play. My response to john was a suggestion so amend that rule. Whats it hurt anyone else to have OT in their own team thread. I would say its up to the team.

I think the rule is in place so team threads don't go so far off-topic that they turn into GDT threads. The regional forums aren't designed for that, they are designed to put players in touch with eachother and allow players to have an arena to communicate with eachother with relevant information to the region, I.E team threads, local events, etc.

I agree. If they turn into an all-out no holds bard GDT then thats a problem. I guess its a grey area, I just dont really agree with what I received a warning for, not so much for the fact that i recieved i just dont feel others should recieve them for the same thing.
