Pillow Bolt Info Thread
since there are so many threads on Pillow bolts I thought I'd put this together. I hope I didn't miss anything??
current pillow bolt:
original bolt before the Pillow was introduced:
pillow bolt with pillow shot out(look at the wear from the detents!!):
replacement pillow
pillow bolts with screw on pillow and with QD
for replacement of the pillow I was able to get the pillow and bolt as one piece so I didn't have to uncrew the old pillow to replace with a new one.

the first pillow bolts ever, used by BLAST in nppl hb 07, were just original bolts, milled, and with a piece of foam super glued in. perhaps what you have.
no pics of these truely though.

Yeah I actually just shot my pillow out today, just shooting it normal, with paint. I called up Bob Long Direct and they're suppose to be sending one right out.

Are there any cons to having the screw in pillow bolt?
I mean, other than having to unscrew it.

They say heat up the allen before you insert it and it should break the bond but like you I couldn't get it off either. I was able to purchase just the bolt with the pillow separately so I didn't have to buy an entire assembly.

Does the problem of the pillow being shot out seem a little to constant for anyone?
Im just wondering cause I just got a pillow with a QD and am wondering if I shoulf take any precaution with it.

Maybe an addition to the thread:
HOW TO REPLACE THE SCREW IN PILLOW:
Materials needed:
Needle nose pliers
blue loctite
replacement pillow
1) With the firing assembly removed from the marker and the bolt taken off, unscrew the 'metal remains' from the inside of bolt using the needle nose pliers. It may take a a slight bit of muscle but it shouldn't be too hard because it's only blue loctite holding it in.
2) With the metal piece removed place a drop of blue loctite on the thread of your replacement pillow and use the needle nose pilers to screw it back into the bolt. Be sure not to grip to tightly as you'll rip the pillow; just hold it tightly enough to get it to screw in
3) Give the loctite a couple minutes to dry and put your firing assembly back togeather and put it back in the gun and your done!

I've heard that there are a couple different versions of the pillow bolt. Mine shot out of my mummy and I have a replacement one with the threads like the one in the pics. Will that one fit on my bolt or are there really different versions of them making me look for the matching part?
