Check the "G3 Package"

It's my exact setup

really, thats weird. I have been thinking of one for a while that would even work on an ion hollowpoint or probably even any spool gun that has a bolt pin.

By bolt pin, I assume you mean "stalk", AKA bolt is outside of the piece it
is sealing against.

With this type of setup a LVL 10 style mod would be VERY easy. It could
even be done by simply drilling a hole in the right spot of the existing bolt.
Getting the placement/size correct would be fairly difficult though.

I think a "build and break" type testing method would probably make it easy.
Of course you would not actually "break" anything. Just drill a hole and see how
it works. A drill press and a dozen or so stock bolts would provide plenty of
data to get it working fairly decently

Thank you,

Edit: I now realize that it somewhat confusing. I emailed techt and they replied. Todd at tech said that he will make it happen. I have to go to work now.

Well, I shot the G3 last weekend at NCPA Nationals in Florida and it never let
me down. It chrono'd in the 290's before every single game and never broke
a single ball. I tried upping the dwell to 16ms and there's still a little kick, but
nothing that would bother me. It did not break one ball all weekend, and there
was NO bolt stick or FSDO.

I got some interesting looks/comments on the gun as well First ref to
chrono me said, "What the **** is that?". I let him shoot it later and I think
he liked it. I also heard several people walk by saying, "There's the gun" (and
point to me), etc.

The trigger on this gun is amazing, IMO. Yes, it does have plenty of side to
side play, but I can rip on it. 15bps or slightly higher sustained is no problem.
NCPA is semi only and refs/spectators thought I was ramping on several
occasions.

Thanks for that update xluben. I was just about to PM you ask how everything went. Glad it all went well! We'd like you to check out a gauge we created for your G3, which should be ready in a few weeks. PM me.

DP is so awesome!

I think it is cool that Brad comes in here and talks to us guys like he does. You will not find service like this anywhere else in paintball.

actually, if you call CCI, Mike Casady (the inventor of the Phantom in '87 or so) will pick up, help you find the solution to your problems, and often give you parts and such for free.

although still definitely props to Brad and DP.

xluben, how does it compare to your F8? Does it give a flatter trajectory? Is it smoother? More or less perceived kick than the stock F8?

Is that guage just for his, or can the rest of us get hooked up with one too? (Once it comes out of course!)......

I agree that it is cool that Brad posts. If you think about it, as pballers, we are really spoiled as a lot of the high end marker manufacturers has excellent responisveness and customer support. I personally can vouch for Bob Long, PE and Dye, as I have had excellent support from all three on markers I have owned and either asked for parts, or gotten repaired by them. If anything goes wrong with my G3, I expet that I will be adding DP to this list.

In the meantime, I am a tinkerer and anxiously awaiting the guage option....

Couldnt you just drill and tap the back cap on a G3 in the center where the allen key goes. Albeit not all the way through I know, but partialy then drill a smaller air inlet hole from the other side, then just screw in a small 600psi mini gauge? If ya red loctite the gauge it should be plenty sufficient to unscrew the back cap as needed.

my only hope is that they opt for something other then a 0-600PSI guage. I try and match the guage top the pressure plus about 20% so that I can read the scale better (hence the 0-100Psi guage on my alias's LPR.
I would think a 0-300 would be sufficient... 0-600 to me means not being able to accurately read the guage.

I think that the only issue there would be that the guage needs to have a short stem, otherwise you'll have it sticking out the back of the cap, and maybe alot depending on the guage.... The other issue, maybe that the backcap doesn't have enough thickness to it to drill and mount a guage, that maybe why the guage in the pci is on a modified back cap.

Yes, that would be nice, but I have not seen anything other than the 0-600psi gauge coming from DP. I also hope it'd be a little shorter than in the pic, but we'll have to wait and see.

Yes, and it's probably just not worth the time or effort for most people to do that kind of mod. Seems like it would be easy enough if you really wanted to do it though.
