I can't see the drawings, but it sounds just like a combined loader/pod... nothing I'm worried about, though interesting.

It's a standard loader/elbow with threading on the ends to lock it into place.

I am looking into patents for my project and I saw this, may mean somethin to ya...all I know is the company on it is Avalon, they made the diamond gt and commando gt back in the day, didnt know they were still around...

i might be wrong, but if i remember right avalon had some really weird hoppers back in the day. they were threaded for their own special feed elbow, covered in bumps that looked like the hopper had herpes, and i think they had a on/off valve to stop paint from being loaded.

That hopper could never work on any other gun, without essentially retro-fitting the other gun into a Banshee (this). That kind of retro-fit would require exensive milling, another solenoid, a new board, etc. It'd be like turning an Ego into a cocker or Excalibur, but more invasive. No just patent a loader that is built in/bolted down to the gun/there is no feed neck in the middle. I just realized something, this is the first innovative thing in paintball since 2003.

Hmm... I think secrets are about done for now. I can say that the single most critical part in the design is possibly being made this weekend, which is exciting. I then will only need to order some additional stock this week, and finish the bulk of it off. With MQ2's being out of stock, that will have to wait.

ahhh...it is almost done too!! I won't be able to finish it this weekend, but hopefully by next it will be ready to ship out...

I have a very minor revision to send, which I'll email to you. It's something I know I could do with a drillpress after I receive the part, but would turn out better if you did it.

With infinite amounts of thanks to CS900... bulk of the "bolt system" is done.

Once I receive it, I'll have to go to work finishing the other parts to fit, and then wait for the MQ2's to get back in stock.

Out of curiousity, since the design could basically be modular in regards to the valve (swap out a cartridge containing a completely different type of valve), which do you guys like the most... a high efficiency, not so smooth firing standard poppet valve, or a balanced PCP/MQ type valve that should be very fast (highest potential ROF), smooth firing, but possible less efficient?

Honestly, a less efficient setup isn't an average concern at places with all day air. You could always test each one and see which performs the best or suits your purposes.

I care more about efficiency, but I think I'm by far in the minority with that one. Is there any chance that you could readily leave it open to the end use and let them choose it? Sort of like picking different options in a car purchase. Then design drop in modules that can alter the firing type.

Assuming this ever sees production, I would definitely like to leave that open.

If this incarnation works well, I plan on making another version using Merlin extrusion, which I'd have a lot more room to mess around with a cartridge based valve.

AGD patented that with their V2 Warp that never came out. It was going to be an underfed gun.
