interesting...

just noticed that i can turn my pressure down to the point that the gun will
go into "training mode". where the bolt partially cycles but it is not enough to
clear the back cap so no air is released.

this was NOT possible with my threshold. not even close. i could barely get
into the low 200's fps before the bolt would just stick back and not cycle at
all.

this leads me to believe that DP significantly changed the forward bias on the
bolt that is created once the noid vents. this should (hopefully) all but
eliminate any of the bolt stick issues some people had with the threshold. i
really can't wait to use this gun!

intense or other iq/g3 owners, can anyone else confirm this condition?

the only other thing that changed from my threshold to the g3 is that i
previously used dow33 on the bolt and have switched to techt gun sav.

Lately, yes ... ever since I got the Haze. I needed a backup tank and got that since it was cheap, loved how small and light it was and have stuck with it since.

I do have a LP 68/4500 Crossy that I can use when I want but Im really liking those 48ci DXS tanks!

the clear grips don't appear to be a big problem, at least in my bedroom.
they work completely fine unless they are <2in from my desk lamp, shining
directly at the grip. time will tell if they'll function on a sunny day. i do love
the look of transparent grips, though.
Glad you like em -- nice to hear they are good after taking the time to send stuff in and get these made for us.

My smoked ones are OK indoors (close to lights) but in BRIGHT direct sun -- NOPE

yeah, thanks for sending your frame in. it's awesome to see the effort DS put into the grips. they really fit/look perfect on the frame. i hope they will work though... the stock G3 grips are always a very good alternative

On the smoke grips get dry erase or permanent marker and just put a few dabs near where the opti sensor is to help it read the trigger pulls. Worked great on my f8. And damn you Xluben...cant get my G3 for bout 3 more weeks...damn housing market..meh

Hey, anyone willing to send their gun to alamocitypb? I know he takes custom work (had a deal for him to make a quest bolt a while back, but it fell through) and if he makes a bolt for the G3 it should go up on his website for sale to the public too. Could be the first G3 open face bolt.

i think a small piece of electrical tape will be my fall back in case they aren't working. shouldn't be too big of a problem because i actually shoot with my hand on the frame, so it should stay covered most of the time.

i could e-mail him and send him some measurements. the bolt is pretty basic, and i have a digital calipers

but i'm not going to go without playing with it

also, i made a vid of training mode in action:

Really cool! I love how the grips look on the gun too. Nice.

Also, definitely email alamocity. You might not need to send your gun out. It would be really nice to get a new bolt in the making before it officially comes out and I'm sure everyone would appreciate an open faced bolt.
