Ok, does this seriously need its own forum?
Isn't this a smart parts marker, under another companies name?
I just want some clarification, because some guy told me that.
And if it is, just another SP marker, why have its own forum?
thanks.

Its the son or whatever you want to call it of SP.... technically I guess you could classify it as a SP marker, but its under a whole different line.

Proto is to Dye
as
DLX Technology is to Smart Parts
It is more of a 'budded-off' version of Smart Parts--not a direct descendent.
And it's a new, high-end marker manufactured by a new, high-end company--why shouldn't it deserve any less than a new forum?
Why do you have such a negative reaction without knowing any facts?
Kids these days; they can be so foolish sometimes...
A word of advice: That's also why you don't accept anything from "some guy". Because he is a stranger, and kids shouldn't talk to strangers.

If your argument holds true, then why do dye and proto share a forum?

My question is why does it bother you that it has it's own forum? Regardless of anything else, it *is* from a new company and as it is, the SP forum is a bit "full" with their markers to put a daughter companies marker under that as well (as well as creating more confusion).

i dont think dlx is to smart parts as is proto is to dye. simply because proto is the cheaper line to dye so that means dlx would be a cheaper sp line. and i dont think 1500 bucks for the luxe constitutes that dlx is a cheaper line. cuz that would mean sp made there own ''sp" the cheaper product line and that would never happen. i honostly beleive sp is going to make another marker shortly and retain the shocker trademark. and its form might be inspired by this new marker and/or vice versa

DLX is their own company that developed this marker from square one, just like all the other companys, smartparts just gave em a hand with some manufacturing...

DLX is to SP as Lexus is to Toyota. Probably a closer analogy. I don't see how DLX would be an entirely seperate company that approached SP for help - just doesn't fit what I know of business. It's almost definitely a deliberately created sub brand. Standard marketing practice.
In any case, this thing is hawt. No problems with it having it's own forum.

so tell me how the luxe is better then the shocker...
if its a different company then you wont mind telling how the competition isnt as good as your marker not just what makes your marker revolutionary.

It's just marketed as a "luxury" high-end. Personal customer service is one of the things it comes with. Every shop who is carrying them has to have certified techs so that if anything unfortunate happens, it can be dealt with same day.
Also, try servicing a sft/nxt in under 30 sec... you'll prolly break several fingers trying.
Other than the tech support, the ease of maintenance (most appreciated by turney players), weight (6oz. lighter than nxt), and it talks to you... it probably doesn't shoot too much better than the shocker, but even if it only got rid of kick, or never chopped paint, even one of those would make it "better".
I just know I can't wait to get one... and yes, it does need it's own forum.

OK FelllowS its time 4 education 101.
First: the NAME Smart Parts has been irrepably HArmed by US the internet Forums.
Second: The point of the "lux" is to disassociate the name of SP from this new gun. SP KNOWS that we will never by anything SP so they made a new brand. This is to get into our pockets once again.
SP knows they have damaged their image. So they did this.
20 dollars says that the brothers Gardner are running the "DLX" Show.
And if its Proto to DM or vice a versa. It still does not need its own forum.
But Here is the deal. IN AMERICA MONEY RULES ALL. So SP is going to get whatever the hell they want.
I am Crazy, I know. but that changes nothing.
goodbye

Not a close analogy at all, a lot of lexus parts are made in toyota plants, such as transmissions and engines. So unless smartparts makes parts for them.......

do you realize, there are still people in this country that do not know that Ford and Mercury are basically the same car? they might not like Ford, but would consider a Mercury. same thing with Whirlpool, Maytag, and Amana refrigerators. all come from the same factory. But by changing the name and altering the look, BAM- completely new product for Brand "B" that people who don't like Brand "A" would buy.

I think this guy hit it on the head.

To clarify this a little. DLX is a completely seperate company run by me. We have our own shipping, our own techs, and our bank accounts, etc.
