Fox news for Ron Paul?
I don't know much about economics, but I know it's scary when Fox Business starts blogging about how we should have listened to Ron Paul. Of course, it's just a blog right? We're not suppose to take them seriously, are we?
http://emac.blogs.foxbusiness.com/20...n-to-ron-paul/
By Elizabeth MacDonald
Time to listen to Texas Congressman Ron Paul, the lone voice of reason in Congress today who’s got to feel like he’s shouting into a field of cotton with his repeated warnings about the dangers of a collapsing dollar, while the administration goes AWOL on the problem.
The dollar just hit a record intraday low against the euro on reports that consumer confidence levels have dropped to levels not seen since the post-Watergate era. It is down 7% year to date against the Chinese renminbi, it’s weaker than the Japanese yen and the Canadian loonie.
Even Milton Friedman, the Nobel Prize-winning economist and a forceful advocate for laissez-faire economics, got so sick of the way central bankers were willy nilly printing money in the ‘70s, he advocated that the government should replace the Federal Reserve with a computer. “Money is too important to be left to central bankers,” he quipped.
Congressman Paul rightfully warns us when he says the US government has “systematically undermined” the US dollar by expanding “the money supply at will for financing war or manipulating the economy with little resistance from Congress–while benefiting the special interests that influence government.”
“Empires fail because they run out of money, or more accurately, run out of the ability to spend or inflate,” Congressman Paul warns. “We need to control spending, immediately, before it is too late.”

I don't know why we can't listen to his economic ideas simply because he has some extremist religious beliefs.
Why this blogger would single out Mr. Paul over any of the other politicians who feel exactly this way, I can't say.

Whether it's stimulus bills, Medicare, or the war in Iraq, spending more seems to be the only answer the current administration has to this problem.

Ron Paul's Presidential hopes are down the drain pretty much, but what he has done is influence his economic beliefs on the country which has helped us realized we have a problem and the only way to fix it is LESS spending...everywhere.

How many ppl that you "don't know" have you actually talked to, in person, and said that they "are not" going to vote for Dr. Paul?

Quite a few, I myself seriously thought about writing him in but the more people did that would split the republican vote. Even though he wont be president in 08, i believe his fiscal libertarianism will still have an impact. It has on me anyways.

that doesnt mean give up, that doesnt mean vote for the lesser of two evils. we can still write him in or urge him to run third party. the number of people who are writing him in is enough to gain attention, but i dont see it going as far as him actually winning the presidency, this time.

Has no idea what the rest of the country thinks. Using media numbers is not acceptable, as the poll votes are only a fraction of the people who happen to be watching the media, those small few are what create the numbers on those polls.

Than lets just keep showing how faulty the other three candidates are. If that don't show the people, "than we are all doomed"!

I think Ron Paul should run as Libertarian. I know he feels strongly about being a "true republican" but he would do better.

I'd like to see it, even if it means giving up his congressional seat.
