They do, but why should they be criticized/ridiculed for it? It's called city vernacular, it's the same thing as Cajun, however because it's considered to be black it's deemed as stupid and without intelligence, when it's really just common talk in the inner city.

Word. I consider it the same as the people from NJ who talk differently or people in Boston who pronounce words like "Boston" or "retarded" Bwoston or retahded.
I don't see any inherent inferiority with a dialect until it reaches an academic setting and is seen as grammatically incorrect. Even then, accent shouldn't be subjected to grading so long as grammar is proficient.

My thought exactly. I've always seen it as an inner city accent, and it's only really inappropriate/worthy of ridicule (in a constructive manner) when used in an academic setting.

You are not going to be successful in most fields if you talk in ebonics, it's inferior in that sense.

That would be like white people going to Africa and demanding that they name their future hurricanes "John" and "William".

It severely angers me when any person of a specific skin color pulls the race card like that.
There is no such thing(nor should there ever be) as skin-pigment-specific given names.
Perhaps we should name some hurricanes "Mohammad". Oh wait, it doesn't seem that Muslims have a history of pulling the race card anyways because they're tolerant.

Read my post for what it said, don't infer anything else about it, unless you want to be labeled a liberal by Apjunkie.

Racism exists because of people like you two who find racism in everything.
My statement was very open ended, yet both of you assumed it had a racist orientation.
And since you both enjoy finding racism in things; it seems the entire world hates black people, seeing as how none of them use "black" names for hurricanes....

You guys know racism has been prevalent for years...right? And you know that it still is, even though blacks are no longer 3/5 of a vote...right?
Okay, just making sure. Just because the large scale Civil Rights movement is over doesn't mean all the lines and borders involving race are ERASED.

I find racism in everything? Lets just ignore the fact that you don't know me, have never heard me speak in real life, and have likely only read maybe 1-5 posts of mine, how do I find racism in everything? Answer that exact question if you'd please.

And people wonder why racism still exists.

I enjoy it? You're so right about me, it's scary.
Get over yourself. Trying to paint me as actually believing she had a legitimate argument was cute, but I'm sorry to disappoint you, I'm not going to play that game with you. What she said was stupid, there's no denying it, but I find a problem with your post.
