Depends on the airline. Who are you flying with?

He's talking about the letter from Emily Mood for people traveling on planes during like the 01 NPPL season.
It's a handy little thing to have with you, even though you will probably never need it and when you do need it, it probably won't work because some airline security people barely got out of 5th grade. At any rate, it serves as a piece of mind... in a way.
I think it was on Warpig.com. Try searching for it there.

i've heard of airline security demanding to look INSIDE fiber wrapped tanks because someone could theoretically hide something inside that the scanners might not pick up...it may help to have an easily removable reg on your tank?

Most people out here just ship it via UPS and have it delivered to their hotel... notify the hotel a few days in advance that you have to have a package delivered/etc. Ship it out a bit earlier than "needed" so its there for sure when you get there.

I really don't know why we are discussing speculation here, but its common among these boards.
-Go directly to the source, call your airlines and ask for policy.

Wrong. Every airline is different, But with experiance with SouthWest, THEY WILL NOT let you take a marker EVEN as check-in if it ISNT locked.
But If you dont call and find out ahead, thats your own bad.
