I was not at the event, and most likely will never play an ACTS event again. I have played in this series every year since 2002 at events I could make time for. It has always been the same, bad events, and the worst reffing ever known to man. I could write a book about how bad the reffing in this series has always been, and the events in general. They never begin on time, there are always issues with players/refs, rule book is discarded/changed to fit the situation. I was'nt at the event, but can tell you that no team or player should have been sanctioned for the actions of an untrained ref. If the ref did it on purpose because he knew the player, that is a different story, which I don't think applies here. I have played at Coastal many times in the past, and most of the reffs are more accustomed to rec and woods play, and not tournament paintball as it is played today, and that causes problems as the reffs are always trying stay ahead of the players, but can't. Cheating in this series is always a problem, I have seen it and been a victim of it many times.

Don't even get me started about APG magazine, it is by far the worst magazine printed in relation to tournament paintball. It is without question geared towards newb players and woods/scenario players. Don't try to validate the series by saying it is covered in APG. It usually is 1 or 2 paragraphs with maybe two pictures of the winners "circle". When was the action picture from an ACTS published?

It is what it is, a local series that the worst team playing could show up and win because it is so random. You have to be prepared to lose your investment because of being cheated or poor reffing decisions, such as a ref speaking to a player during a game!! If those are chances you are willing to take, then play it. If not, go play somewhere else, where the amout of talent on your team, and the amout of practice you have put in to be a better player and better team actually means something.

I will end on this note, the reffing at the next event should be better if it is reffed by the players/staff at McCoys. There are some really good, experienced players and reffs there. I may even come out for that one.

Too bad the person who has actually done the cfoa ref certification may not be there.. I don't know if proper villains did the class but if they did, then I think there will be some actual refs on the field. I intend on playing the mccoy's acts.

But as far as action shots, I tried to get on the field to get pictures of all the teams, but I was told to remove myself by bambi. Not because I was in the way, interfering with the game or even bothering teams, because she doesn't want anyone on the field with a camera.
I think its funny because I am not trying to profit in anyway in this situation, I was merely trying to provide a service that is not offered to the teams that participate in the series other wise. I mean, who doesn't like the opportunity to have a picture of themselves playing paintball? Plus it would help me with my portfolio which is the main reason I would not charge anyone for the service.

Let me tell you something that bothered me. I know it's something real stupid, but it just shows how stupid this whole series is. 1 layer of headgear? Go look in any other rule book and tell me that they say 1...please, go do that..

Every rule book = 2 layers EVERYWHERE. Head is included...

I dunno, how they ended up. I think I may have 1 or two of the guy with the pump, but thats it. I was planning on shooting several of your games, but that ended up not working out. Were are going to try to make Homecoming ... We have 2 guys returning late in the Year from Deployments and thats always been our biggest pit fall to the team is having the players to ensure we have a core squad ...

yes, how else am I supposed to look cool, I mean I use those to layers to make sure everything matches...

But one thing I would say, is that the second layer can not be 2 inches think. All tournaments enforce a "thickness rule" but they do allow the two layers.
from psp rule book:
7.1.3. No part of a player may be covered by more than two layers of clothing.
7.1.9. Players may wear up to, but not in excess of three items on their head. As an example, one
sandanna, one headband, and one beanie. Hats, caps and headbands may not be modified
from the manufacturer’s original form, and may not extend more than one inch below the
collarbone or below the shoulder blades, and headbands may be no wider than 2”.

What about the guns?
I mean, if your shooting 13.4 do you really need to be suspended from the tournament, the next tournament, get 0 points for the game and lose 100 points from the tournament?

Every event that ramps has modified psp rules which addresses the issue in terms of severity.

oh yes...and with the whole ramp thing...I laughed at that whole thing. Ramping = but when you say "13.33" and also say you are going to enforce it (even without a pact timer, you should be able to tell what is what..), you can't have people shooting 15 and stuff on the field. I heard MULTIPLE people shooting 15+ on the field. I didn't really care as I feel about it is BPS really doesn't matter in the game of paintball, just as long as you have lanes shot.

but, as I was saying, enforce 13 or not...you should be able to tell what is 13 and what is 15..
