Below is the proper warning (just delete the space between [ and s):

hahahaha, so let's quote him and give his post more fame. I'd be pissed if some dick spoiled a book I was reading. I'd put the quote in its own spoiler tags.

On topic...
Steven Pressfield-"The Gates of Fire"
Herman Hesse-"Siddhartha"
Eugenjusz Komorowski-"Night never ending"
Tom Clancy-"Rainbow Six"
I tend to stick to more military/political science type novels. Only lately have I begun to scratch the surface of the rest of the novels out there.

I've got Gates of Fire, I never finished it, but I still intend on reading it eventually and finishing it. Was it good?

Dune (first book I ever read...in elementary school)
Kilobyte, by Piers Anthony
Black Hawk Down
The Halo novels
Harry Potter Series
The Chronicles of Narnia
Starship Troopers
And my all-time favorite series
The Seventh Tower, by Garth Nix.
The Seventh Tower pretty much inspired me to get into writing, and the books fueled this creativity in me that I can't even describe. I love them dearly, and you can bet your *** that I will make my kids read them someday.
*EDIT* Yay for a new forum to escape the ****tards of normal ST and where I can post my random writings. WEEEEEEEEEEE

Is it good?
It personally makes me want to go and lift twice what my normal max is on anything weight lifting related. People started looking at me funny because(embarassingly) I would start chuckling darkly or nodding my head at how amazing the carnage was that they created and endured. If you don't read it from the beginning it doesn't have nearly as much meaning though. I'd much rather read the book then see the movie any day since the idiots who made "300" decided that they'd use a graphic novel(comic book) instead of what actually happend in its entireity.
Read it again and finish it and I promise you that you won't be dissapointed.

I know what a graphic novel is. I DID make the comic book thread.
I started reading it over the summer on the train to/from work. I got a chapter or two in. I will be sure to pick it up again.

Time to hit up the library. I haven't read a lot of the books in here. I've had a lot of interests in books over the years. Started with shooter/military like Tom Clancy and Richard Marcinko. Then it got a little Sci-fi with Michael Crichton and Clive Cussler (favorite author of all time) and some fantasey like Harry Potter. I need to reread the Golden Compass series. Those were all good.

I thought I was the only person who really enjoyed that book. It usually get cast in the shadow of all of his other books, when I think it is actually one of this best works.

I've only read Fight Club and Lullaby by Palahniuk and I really want to check out his other work because I love his style. Every time I go tot he library everything is already checked out though.

If you get a chance, I would read Survivor (his best in my opinion) Rant (coolest character) and Invisible Monsters, which is just amazingly put together. Lullaby is my least favorite of his, but it's still a worthwhile read.

I keep trying to get any one of those three, but they're always checked out when I go to the library. I'm going to eventually get my hands on them though.
