I'm probably a little ADD when it comes to books. Even if I'm in the most intense scene in a book, I still have the tendency to get bored. Sometimes it results in me skipping page after page. I need the change in writing style, and actually the setting of a story, in order for me to keep reading.
Deadhouse Gates, for example, is set in a desert. I hate that setting, but I love the story. That's why I have jPod which is a nice modern, urban setting.
