Hostage Crisis Theme
For 2008 we have shifted dark ops to a special date each month at each of our outdoor locations. Plattekill's dark ops will fall on the 3rd Saturday of the month starting with Jan 19th's Hostage Crisis Game. Below is a brief overview of the game. Be sure to get here on time so we may start the game promptly.
After building tensions during the latest Iran Nuclear Proliferation talks, Iran has stepped back from the negotiation table and in a last ditch effort to hold some political clout Iran is holding US embassy workers and some US students captive. In retaliation the US has frozen many of Iran's financial assets in our money markets. If negotiations cannot be reached the US will be forced to use every means necessary to reclaim these captive citizens.
(US) - This scenario will begin with Iran holding 4 hostages in an abandon military outpost, in the mountains along the Pakistan border. The Americans must use their ties with the Pakistani military to harbor a safe landing zone for Operation “” to begin. Once in country the US must leave no evidence of its presence in the area, we don't exactly have the proper permissions to conduct such an operation. We must first destroy a communications outpost to block any calls for help the Iranian Royal Army may attempt. Then they must plan the military take over of this Royal Army Outpost and bring all of the hostages back to the LZ for a safe evacuation. Any evidence of this being an American Military Operation will put unneeded strain at the negotiations tables, stealth and precision is key to success.
(Iran) – The Iranians are in control of 4 captured US diplomats. Iranian intelligence seems to think that one of these diplomats is a spy working for the CIA, with the media's eye so focused on how we are treating our guests, the UN has demanded that we issue daily videos of their well being. Every hour we must take a video tape from our base of operations and bring it to the Al Jazir broadcasting beacon to be sent to the UN for review. The longer we can stall the negotiations, the more time we have to interrogate these prisoners to show the world how the Americans illegally send spies into our homes. As long as we can hold onto our captives and keep the American Military at a stand still we should be able to persuade the spy to give himself up and use him as a tool to turn the worlds favor to our side!
