I think it took 1-2 months for me.

I think the 5 movie thing is over. When I got my PS3 in July the freebie said it would be done in early Sept.

**** the Blu-ray movies.... I will go HD-DVD.

I have a PS3, 46" Samsung LCD TV, 5.1 surround setup with a Sony STR-DE885 receiver (only 3 years old too!). Blu-ray (audio) does not work on this SONY receiver. They expect me to use composite cables or as Sony politely said "Upgrade to our new HDMI recievers..." The best part is this issue is only on Sony receivers.

Thanks for screwing me over once again Sony. So I will play my PS3 games and go out and buy a new Yamaha receiver and a nice HD-DVD player. I hope Blu-ray dies a horrible death....

I dabbled in it, but the ppl were too good and worked me over. It wasn't fun.

Co-Op with the wife is wayyyy better.

seriously just keep playing and you will get better. Co-op is fun though. My friend and I usually end up trying to kill each other though.

Unique, if you ever need someone to play with online, let me know.

Nope... THe sound will cut in and out every couple of seconds. According to those bastards (Sony). The reciever has a sensor inside used to ensure sound spikes do not occur that is too sensitive for Blu-ray audio. So the reciever interprets the sound as wrong and cuts in and out. They will not repair or replace this sensor. Simply put, after hours of talking with support and opening cases, I was told to buy a new reciever. Only recently they updated the support site with this...

*******************************

Knowledge Article C549452

The audio drops out when playing a Blu-ray Disc® movie using a digital (optical or coaxial) connection for sound.

This Audio/Video (A/V) receiver was manufactured prior to the introduction of Blu-ray Disc® (BD) technology. The digital (optical and coaxial) connection does not support the Dolby® Digital signal from a BD movie; this symptom is not a malfunction. Alternatively, an analog connection should be used to connect your BD player to the A/V receiver in order to hear the sound.

NOTE: There are no plans at this time to update the A/V receiver to support the Dolby Digital signal from BD movies.

************************************************

Why even watch a movie if you can't even use your surround sound? The worst part is even regular DVD's **** up on the PS3 but not my LG DVD player. So in my bitter opinion, I will not support these *******s again.

Except for games

^^ Try it before you trust them. They just want you to upgrade.

Edit: No one plays Resistance anymore (from here, anyway), so.. CoD is where it's at. But I don't have it

resistance got boring after a year of playing. My favorite was 32 player DM at the mall. Nothing quite like 60-70 kills a game. I loved CTF too but all the ****heads that waited around for you to bring the flag back and then your own team kills you so they can get the flag points, that just pissed me off. And the glitching got annoying after awhile.

edit- im buring all my music onto a few 4.7 gb cd's so i can put them on my ps3. Since my ps3 can never ever work with my ipod.

I need a new hdd too. I only have 12 gb left from my 60. Im looking for a 250 gb probaly. Any 2.5 external will work right?

Charlie -- Why don't you just stream the music from your PC?

As for HDD's, you want a USB one? If you use a USB one, you won't be able to use it for saves/update data.
Look for a 2.5" SATA drive (Any modern laptop drive, pretty much, but ask here before buying one).
