Most people believe bo cantrell was just there for a paycheck or it was fixed. According to an interview with bas rutten he doesnt believe kimbo would agree to a fixed fight but he believes cantrell was just there for the paycheck as well.
Ill believe kimbo can make it in MMA under two conditions:
Beats someone with a somewhat decent record thats in a more well known org, or has fought in well known orgs.
Shows he has what it takes if the fight goes to the ground against a BJJ black belt
After watching the video that was not even his first sanctioned mma fight... that was his exhibition fight with mercer, whos like what in his 50s? His last mma fight was against bo cantrell... a guy who tapped out after getting punched in the shoulder... that really proves he has what it takes to fight in mma
dana will not let him fight in the UFC, hes the exact opposite of what hes trying to promote
Im not saying kimbo is good, but I just cant see him beating any top level guys, not to mention hes not getting any younger, so I don't think he will be able to pick it up quick enough to actually be at the skill level of the top fighters ever, unless hes a freak of nature like Couture and Severn
He doesnt show much technique or form at all when you compare him to other MMA fighters

Of course im not saying he needs all of these to compete, but he has not shown technique anywhere close to any of these at the professional level yet.

Dana said he will not let Kimbo into the UFC until he proves himself.. Therefor once Kimbo gets a good enough record he has a perfectly good chance.
I'm also tired of all you little babies crying about " Oh Kimbo sucks he doesn't fight any top name fighters" ... If you are going to go into MMA/Ufc are you going to want to fight top name fighters your first few matches?? No, you are going to want to fight some scrubs so you can see if you can take the heat and last in a MMA fight as well as see where your at as far as fighting style and picking things up.
Once Kimbo gets a good fight for once that lasts more than 19 seconds, Bas(his trainer and an amazing MMA fighter) will know where his boy Kimbo is at and will want to Schedule him against tougher fighters.
My Opinion is that guy has some ****ing intensity, he is extreme!

Kimbo is supposed to fight Tank Abbot in EliteXC soon. I know he's not the best and he's kind of old but he's not gonna ***** out like bo cantrell did.

Kimbo may be able to make his way in low level MMA, but wouldn't stand a chance against anyone with good standup defense or any kind of technique that keeps distance.
I'd like to see Kimbo go up against someone like Crocop and get his shins broken.

Once again your a little baby crying.. Kimbo is going to make his way in lowend MMA at first til he trains more and gets more expierence under his belt. Quit crying about it
