Cocker, better transition from when you go from your pump to a regular gun. Phantoms are great pumps, but for strictly pump players. Plus it's cool being able to whip out a 200 round hopper whenever you feel like it. Phantom your stuck with those tubes and 12 grams.

Um, CCI makes openclass bodies for phantoms. And believe it or not, you can use regular air tanks

cockers, i own 2 now 1 semi 1 pump and luv em both! It is better than a phantom simply because I like that there are so many possibilities for a cocker, unlike phantoms.

Converted cockers are much better for me. They have a more stable shooting platform and are pretty easy to keep on target even after you pump. They also have a wider variety of easily available parts and kits, more about those in the stickys. Phantoms do kick a little less and can be made much smaller though.

I like using my Sniper II (a converted from a black '03 Prostock) simply because of it's weight and compatibility with a wide variety of upgrades. Phantoms are light-weight, but a pain in the a** to chrono.

phantoms aren't that hard to adjust... I don't think it is any harder to stick the velocity tool down the barrel then it is to undo the cocking rod and adjust the IVG ... or tweek a reg ... but thats just me. I guess it is one of thoose personal preference things

set it an forget it. i had a phantom once that shot 267 every shot. i never wanted to turn it up ever, becuase litterally every shot was 267. had that gun for 3 years, and it never didn't shoot 267.

yep
someone (im looking at you, linuss...cockerpunk) should make a thread specifying all the different setups (with pics) you can have with snipers and phantoms and all that other good stuff

Wow... yea... no.
What type of marker you choose solely depends on you.
Phantoms are great guns. Sheridans are great guns. Cocker-based pumps are great guns. It all depends on what strikes your fancy.

I've been corrected already. Read about 2 posts down.
But while I'm at it, that was quite the insightful thought on pump guns.
I agree that pumps are all personal preference.
