As most of all you know, Southern California has been currently battling uncontrollable fires. I, while a college student at San Francisco State, hail from Orange County. My family, my ex-teammates, friends, and memories are all there.
The Paintball Mecca of the United States resides in San Diego where over 1 million people have been forced to evacuate their homes, people are staying in the Qualcomm Arena, and over $1.2 Billion in damages has been done. Currently, firefighters are also only able to contain less than 2% of the fire in San Diego.
Many of our prized paintball fields that we have spent so much money, time, sweat, toil, pain, and practice might disappear. And while I don't know if you are religious or even know me, I ask that you at least reflect upon the great tournaments/events/practices you have had in Southern California and take a moment of silence or bow your head in prayer for the many families who have had to suffer.
"May everything work out for you, your families, and your friends. I pray with you in fear, sickness, pain, and in death. I pray for any of your losses. I pray for the firemen who have been toiling for days on end, and may your brave souls guide you through the flames to the lost and trapped."
As I understand.. tomorrow @ 1, The Q will be closing and pretty much telling it's evacs to go home.. Chargers, I believe will be playing @ home.. unless the air is too terrible for LT.. then they will be playing in Houston Texas.
