I love him in his movies. I bought his 2002 stand-up album and was a bit let down. I think he's 10x funnier if you can see him (because his golf portion is hilarious in video form, but not so much with only audio)

He's a comedic legend. You sir, have no taste.

Thats all that needs to be said, He's a good comedy actor, but anything else and hes crap. He was good in Jacob the Liar and Good Will Hunting as well as Dead Poets Society and Moscow on the Hudson but thats about it on the serious side of the films hes done.

Take a look at some of his older work and you'll see some decent funny stuff.

EDIT that who's line episode was only beaten by the richard simmons one in how funny it was.
Did you ever see One Hour Photo? I'd have to say that he does a great job as the creepy bad guy.

Discuss.
he is ****ing hilarious. when he's not funny in a movie, its not his fault; he's an actor not a writer. blame ****ty lines on the people who wrote them, not the guy who's told to say them. his standup is godly though.

Very good point. Though, sometimes comedians do a bit of improv and those parts tend to be the funniest in comedies.

Robin Williams has good range, and is a damn good actor. Yeah he's done some bad movies, but who hasn't?

I can't believe I haven't seen any mention of Hook, What Dreams May Come, or Patch Adams.

I'm just surprised no one has mentioned the bird cage either.

Woops, forgot about Hook. I used to watch that movie all the time. I haven't seen the others actually.

I am not a fan of him outside of Popeye and What Dreams May Come and I can't believe that people don't list those two movies first. I saw part of his stand up, and the funniest part was how much he was sweating in my opinion...

Yeah, he's not one of my favorite actors or anything, but he's been in some great movies, and is solid over all. With that said, What Dreams May Come is easily my favorite Robin Williams movie.

Don't get me wrong he does a great job as a creepy bad guy, but I just would have liked to see 1 Hour Photo be a bit darker. It was a good movie reguardless, but I just would have liked to see it go a bit more.

You want to toss on Fathers Day as well? Compaired to the other movies it really isn't ranking to high up on the list.

Another good film, but I just didn't get into it that much.

I've NEVER been a fan of Robin Williams. I think he work is cheesy and talentless.

He was decent in Good Will Hunting though.
