Not worth it IMO. They look cool, but functionality wise they are the same as any rip drive. The heavy drive cone also somewhat reduces the maximum speed at which the hopper can feed. If I still owned a Halo and had known this before I purchased the hot rod kit, I would have just gotten a normal rip drive and a delrin drive cone.

I've heard of some people having problems with the three paddle drive cone busting paint.

Get a delrin drive cone, very reliable and also lighter than the metal ones.

i work at a field in Texas, and ive installed 2 hot rod kits for guys in our pro shop, and ive tested both, and i think that for the price ($35) that its really not a bad deal. You get the longer guard spring, the speed wheel, the cone, all necessary parts, the rip drive wheel, and its all ano'd aluminum.

functionally, it works a little better than standard rip drive equipment IMHO, but there again, some people who have had a bad experience with them will say just the opposite. back-loading the cone spring can be annoying, but its a neat kit and i think it works well and makes halos look nicer.

black sparkle halo w/ black hot rod parts kit FTW
