Velocity Inconsistency??

I have been having velocity problems lately. I shoot a Nitro Duck 68ci 3000psi w/ a Vertical Maxflow, running 175psi with dwell set accordingly. I maintain my gun very well, clean and lube after every day of playing. My velocity has been jumping some 10-15fps between shots. I chrono with a RadarChron, the pocket chronograph, and I don't think it is the chrono that is inconsistent.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Consistancy will be effected by several factors including:

~ a bad paint to barrel match
~mix matching paint (I call this skittles) where you load 50 of these and 20 of those and 40 of another into your hopper.
~ Bad air flow from the tank. Some of the Nitro Duck tanks have a long pin. When you screw in the tank, you will hear and feel the pin open as air enters the gun. From there you should turn the tank another 1/4 turn, but no more. Anything more than that and you will start to have the pin in the ASA plug the hole in the tank.
~ paint in your ball detent.
~ o-ring problem in the max-flow or you need to clean the max-flow.

Hope some of this helps

Another place to look is at your striker.

Rember there should NEVER be grese on the hammer itsself. only the SHAFT. and there should not be any lube in the hammer chamber itself.

Ofcourse we could have a solonild that is getting dirty but you would normaly notice that you were losing velocity as well as getting less consistency.
