I was wondering if it would affect the performance of the gun to attach the ion capacitor to wires, and move it down further into the grip frame? It’s a project, and the shocker frame doesn’t have enough room to fit the capacitor where it is, so I want to move it. Also, does the capacitor have a positive and negative side, or does it not matter which side you solder the wires onto? Thanks a lot in advance.

You can do it without problems, provided that you keep the cap leads going to the same place as they are before you remove them (most important!). Secondly, this type of cap has a polarity.
