Is this done right?

Ok so I bought a DM4 off here and just got it today. I have gone over everything making sure everything is right and after looking at the bolt I want to know if these mods done to it are correct.

In this picture, looks like the previous owner tried to do the Tophat mod. I believe the tape is suppose to go to the end right before where the threads start. Aboutt 1/4 inch is untaped and think it should be.

The next mod done on the bolt is the "Super Insane Effieceny Mod". According to the directions in the ultimate mod thread, the tape is not suppose to reach the cage and suppose to be to the top of the wall. Now it is not to the top of the wall and over the cage about a 1/4".

Do I need to fix these things or will it be fine the way it is. I can't try out the gun till the weekend so I want to get it ready before then. Thank you.

just undo the mods and do them if you want later

Well if they will work I dont want to take them off, but if anyone thinks they will not work correctly I will take them off and fix them.

Also is the CP trigger suppose to have a spring?

did it work before you bought it? its just tape, go to the field see if it works, if not take it off then and there

stock bolt is fine, take all that trash off.

Shoot it.
If it works better than it would stock, keep the tape stuff.
If not, ditch the tape.

I would shoot it but I can't till this weekend when I go to the field. Can't shoot it at my school and field is only open on the weekends. Oh well I'll hope for the best.

DMs are quiet, so it should be ok.
I shoot my Proto next to my house all the time.

i just taped my bolt exactly like your first picture. ( tophat )
works fine. lowered lpr and raised hpr but no chrony or paint through it.
in theory taping almost allthe way to the oring over the entire area is comprable to taping all the way to the oring on part of the bolt ( removing approximately the same volume of air ) but im new to dms so i dont know.
yes i do know.... the first ( tophat ) will be fine. i have no idea about the other one though.

I put both of those mods on my DM6, both made it horrible...Couldn't get any better efficiency and they just gave me problems, I would just remove them.

I cut a hole in the screen of my dorm window for setting up markers.

run the Top hat mod only. doesnt the other mod require that you cut some of the back cap, similiar to a Hybrid

I guess Ill remove the tape...Im having a small barrel leak so gunna have to take it all apart anyways.
