New ST: Photo Mod?
This is where you guys get to nominate people you think should be mods for this sub-forum. I don't care what the other PbN mods think, so leave this thread alone.
Anyway, I'm pretty sick of not having any real moderation in here. It also seems that when we do get moderation, it usually sucks. So here are some criteria I'm putting out there for a new mod:
a) Has to be on regularly
b) Has to know what this forum is all about
c) Won't take mod powers as an ego boost and become a goderator
d) Will make this place a little bit easier to swallow. Some thread just deserve to be closed, and some posts just need to be deleted.
So anyway, just post up names of people, and I'll compile the top 3 names for a poll. Hopefully, I'll be able to send a request to the PbN admins for a new moderator of this forum and they'll at least entertain our request slightly.
If you guys think this is unnecessary, I'll just delete it.

Honestly, how many posts do you think need deleted during an average week?
Everyone here has my screen name, if there is a problem I can take care of it...i'm lurking in here all the time anyway.

I don't think it's really needed, but it's also not a terrible idea. However, I don't think ive ever seen the staff really respond to something like this before.

The "Report this post to a Moderator" button is foreign here. Flaming is the number one option. Besides, JDMOTO already revealed to us that the threads are often closed or deleted entirely instead of a single post being taken care of.

We need a special mod tailored to the general attitude of ST: Photo. The other mods come in here and delete posts and close threads. But the people who end up getting banned are people like nosey...who are regulars, while the irritating people go on posting.

I don't buy it.
Don't pretend like i'm a foreigner to the photo forum Larry, I know how everyone in here operates (including yourself). That hurts man, honestly.
With the exception of a very select few, moderators are not chosen to moderate one specific area of the site. Most moderators are needed to cover more than one forum for a variety of reasons.
The photo forum has one specific moderator, you have all of the ST moderators, and you have me at your disposal at all times. If there is a problem, address it with one of us. You can't really expect us to read every single post in every single thread in this forum let alone all forums. That is what the "Report this post to moderator" button is for.
This forum is one of the smoothest running forums on the site. The regulars beat down the new kids quick enough that most problem threads die out. I'm not saying that is a good thing but that is how it is and frankly I don't see a need for another mod.
BTW: I've deleted 3 three useless threads and moved 2 threads to a different part of the site, this week alone, from this forum. I've also pruned a few posts here and there, remember, you can't see all of what we do.
I really love this forum and all of you guys. If there is a problem, let me know.
Double Edit: Nosey has been warned COUNTLESS times for flaming. End of story.
