Duracells and it keeps jamming and when the light flashes on the front the motor bogs down and then speeds up

cakewalkpyro - sounds like a motor to me, but heres what you should do. Go to wal-mart and buy some rechargable Nimh aa batteries with charger, this will run you about $20. see if that helps if not thne get a PD motor or xmods.

this has prly been asked before, ive tried lookin for it, but geez this is a long thread .
another battery question . what about using 3 cr123 photo batteries ? seem to have good capacity and voltage ? how about an educated answer about AAA's as well . ive been using AAA nihm's and no problwm at all....seem to have good voltage and cpacity, plenty of speed ......im using 900 mah in one of my halo's and 800 mah in the other . one has a speedwheel, the other a
hd2 . maybe because i only use these for a case maybe case and 1/2 each time i play, but they seem to be just fine . any input would be great . thanx .

Those CR123 batteries are simple lithium ion cells and together will produce 12.6 volts just like a Boost pack, which could fry your board.

Nimh AAs are a good choice and will last a long time, but less speed. There's a chart on the bottom of the first page.

Matt

3 of them will give you 12 volts ? arent they rated at 3.2 or 3.6 volts ? also i was asking about AAA's ....not AA's . maybe you thought i typo'd, lol . thanx .
also with capacity, does the total capacity of your batttery pack equal all the batteries together, or just the capacity rating of one of the batteries in the pack ? geez sounds confusing ....

Yes, they are labeled to produce 3.7 volts each as a MINIMUM, which is not real voltage. They actually prodice 4.2 volts each and that is after cooling from charging.

Your AAAs will work great. Just keep using them.

The total pack is 1,000mah.

Good luck,
Matt

well, i just tried the 6 AAA with my hd2 and some paint . im gonna have to add another AAA . make it a 7 battery pack . gonna put it it at about 9.8 volts . im guessin that the extra from the motor needs the extra voltage . seems to work ok with my stock motor with the speedwheel .

someone should try to cram as many upgrades and mods possible (that affect speed) onto a halo b/reloader b and see how fast it feeds

uuuuummmmm, ok . i'll do it now

turns out that the 6 triple A's work for the stock motor and z-coded board, with speedwheel . drop tested at 21-22 bps . not too bad . the 6 triple A's wouldnt work for my halo with the hd2 . prly due to the fact that initial voltage on nimh batteries is lower then regular batteries . i had to use 2
9volt's . i drop tested at 25-26 bps . definately a big notice . 4 bps doesnt sound like much, but i put this hopper on my nme, and hell yeah it is . just thought i'd share . i would think that 7 AAA's would work for the hd2 setup .

Some people just don't seem to understand that too much speed turns your loader into a popcorning paintball blender. Especially with brittle, high grade tournament paint.

The more crap you put on it, the worse it's going to work. There is a balance of speed, torque, voltage, current and spring tension. Too little or too much is bad either way.

Good cone w/ steel pin, good battery pack w/ proper voltage and maybe a better motor if you still need more speed will feed a proven 24-30 bps with a stock Halo board. Exactly what Mdogg and I both use and recommend repeatedly. Most of the time simplier is better, more dependable and cheaper.

Good luck,
Matt

Stock zboard with normal Alkaline AAs feeds 18 bps.

Stock zboard with Bone feeds 24 bps.

Then add HD2 jumps it up to 30 bps.

Vboard with Bone only feeds 28 bps.

Either way, no one shoots faster than last 3 legally.

Matt
