Would anodizing a barrel effect its inner smoothness/bore?

it might make it smoother come to thing about it and the bore would get a little smaller but nothing that would chang the performance of the gun.

from what i know... before re-ano'in, the old anodizing will be stripped away that is some aluminum in the upper/outer layer of the barrel thus making the inner bore smaller, re-ano'in it afterward will replate the outerlayer, but since some aluminum has been stripped away, the inner bore will be bigger

and as for smoothness.. it will depend on the finish of the ano (not sure which one is most affective), but if you have an insert system, the tip wont ba affected as much as a single barrel that you have to ano all the way through (including control bore)

come to think of it.. my friend re-ano'ed his ultralight and i think the bore is almost like .700

You shouldnt see enough change in the bore of the barrel to be concerned.

When done properly you should be removing somwhere between .0003 and .0005

When you re-anodize the part you should have a growth of .0002 to .001

If you think about it most barrels are rated to .002. I have never seen a barrel kit that goes by .001.

If you use the average of the tolerances given above you should be able to figure out the rough change in your barrel size.

In a worse case you shouldnt see more than .0018 change in the bore size if average is correct. This would take a .689 barrel to a .6908 barrel.
